Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Dodge Caravan

Ok. I've only had this vehicle for 2 1/2 year and I've found after a year, it was hard to keep gas in the vehicle even though I filled it up at times, it would still go out , the doors have gotten jammed, the windows stuck because of heat, last year the seat belts in the back stopped working and now I have a transmission problem and the vehicle will only go backwards. I never knew those things could happen to this vehicle. Also the alarm no longer works after 2 years. I have to take the key out just to open the vehicle. When I got the vehicle , there was a cd stuck in it and radio didn't work and couldn't be fixed.

We bought a 2016 Dodge Caravan and had a "remote" start installed through the dealership. The van would shut off when the remote start was used, sometimes. When it shut off in neutral, before I could even make it into the van, the electrical acted like it was disconnected from the battery, (the clock would be flashing, radio stations un-programmed, airbag light on. ) the dealership had our van for 2 weeks (no rental), and they never could duplicate or fix the problem. We picked up our van and did not receive paperwork. @three months later, the van died again. But this time while in drive-at a complete stop, while at a drive thru bank atm. When it shut off, the electrical acted like it was disconnected from the battery, (the clock would be flashing, radio stations un-programmed, airbag light on-same as before) I took the van to the dealership. They estimated it would take 3 days to repair and gave me a rental. In less than one day they did a computer "update. " on my way home from picking up the "repaired" van, it shut off again, this time in drive-at a complete stop, in a fast food drive thru. I took it back on the same day, and was given another rental. This was in October. (paperwork states: oct 11 and oct 13. ) Friday oct 13 I received a call from the dealership to bring back the rental. When I asked if my van was fixed I was told, �no, but the dealership isn't going to pay for the car rental anymore. � the dealership opened a star case from corporate and were told to close the case, even though nothing was fixed. I returned the rental and picked up my van. Oct 18, my van shut off again, while at a complete stop in reverse. I am waiting to hear back from the dealership, to see if they can fix this problem-again.

There is a known recall now for 2008-2010 Dodge Caravans for the ignition switch or win module malfunctioning. My van started with not turning completely off when the key was in off mode and removed from the ignition. The radio would still be on and lights on the dash with the key completely out of ignition. I had to remove the battery cable to get the van to turn off completely. This worked for a couple days but now it will not start or run at all. The error on the dash display says "bad key" and I am unable to start or use my van at all. When asked about recall they say my van doesn't fall into the months they issued the recall for in 2010? I am going to have to get this fixed because I cannot use the van otherwise and to replace the win module it is going to cost me around $600 (which I do not have!). I just purchased the van on memorial day weekend 05/2015 so I have only had this vehicle roughly 3 months and it is already broken down. Not a happy customer!.

I was driving back from a friends and suddenly my dash board started to flash. I could still drive and the radio was unaffected however then the dash board lights turned off completely which really scared me. I had no idea how fast I was driving either. The dash board was black but then after a bit turned back on!.

There was a safety defect recall under NHTSA campaign id number 04v531000 (equipment; electrical;radio/tape deck/cd etc). The contact experienced the identical failure mentioned in the recall. However, the VIN number was excluded from the recall defect. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 117,000. The VIN was not available. Bl.

The failure mileage was 75,000 and current mileage was 117,000.

Received recall 04v531000 at the beginning of the year, and could not get the recall work done on 2001 Dodge Caravan. Took it to a dealer to have it repaired, and they said they could not do it because they did not have the part. The consumer called Chrysler and they had no service in spanish. The door actuator was replaced.

Safety recall-radio vent slots, d48 on Dodge Caravan is an unsatisfactory fix. Placing tape over the radio vents will cause the radio to overheat in florida! a fire is possible.

I was changing the station on the radio when the component started flashing. It seemed like it was scanning through the stations. Then the radio just went blank.

Fm tuner failed.

Rear driver's side speaker caught on fire while driving. Dealership indicated that this was caused by a power surge in the system. The speakers were original equipment.
