1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2023 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

When the manual cruise control or the adaptive cruise control is engaged, the speed setting is not displayed as indicated by the user manual of the vehicle. This provides a hazard when using the cruise control, as it creates a situation where you can engage cruise or adaptive cruise without knowing what the speed it is set to, and could potentially result in a collision. Additionally, when adjusting the speed setting of the cruise control, it is you can't see what the speed is adjusted to. This speed setting is displayed on older versions of the vehicle (I previously owned a 2019 Challenger that displayed the setting). I have not yet taken the vehicle to the dealer, but have found multiple accounts online of other 2023 Dodge Challengers experiencing the same problem. It would appear to be a software issue, as the manual and adaptive cruise controls function normally other than not being able to see the set speed. Please see the attached photo, adaptive cruise is currently on, indicated by the green icon on the left of the screen, but the manual indicates the speed setting should be indicated below the green icon.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2017 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 11/15/2023

2017 Dodge Challenger gt, very well maintained. About two months ago, I would hear chimes but no messages popping up. A few days after this started happening, I am driving on the parkway and then acc mode flashed on the message center behind the wheel, but then went away very quickly - I could not see what else the message was trying to indicate. This happened several times on the trip home from work. Otherwise, the car drove without an issue. A few days later, on a Sunday, I am driving and the check engine light comes on. I bring it to auto zone and get a reading of thermostat erratic. Bring it to the mechanic the next day on Monday, who gets the same reading. He calls me to say after replacing the part, it was "throwing really weird erratic codes" & asked if I would approve a temperature sensor, thinking that might fix the issue, which I did. Drove the car home and then to work the next day on Tuesday with no issue. Wednesday morning, I back out of the driveway because I am working home that day & my husband needs to get to work. Waiting in front of the house with my foot on the brake, as he leaves, I do not take my foot off the brake but instead lift off a little but still keep pressure on it to slowly turn the wheel and roll into the driveway. As this happens, with foot still on brake, I see acc mode flash on the screen, hear a loud winding noise like someone stomped on the gas, then the steering wheel, & brakes lock. The shifter also locks. The car launches forward, then, on its own, jerks violently to the right and I crash into the house. I try to turn off the car but it will not turn off. I then remember the key fob next to me on the seat and the only way to turn off the car is by the key fob. I find out later via internet research that day that there was a recall on the v8's for issues with adaptive cruise control activating on its own or not disengaging and my insurance asks me to call Dodge to open a case and the rep yells at me it's only v8 & hangs up.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2023 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 09/18/2023

Once the cruise control or adaptive cruise control is set, there is no indication as to what the speed is set to on the display. The only way to find out what it was set to is to turn off the cruise control then set a new speed. Also, when increasing or decreasing the speed control, there is nothing to indicate the new speed in the display. You must count how many times you press the + or - speed button to calculate the new speed. I believe this is a big driving distraction and could be potentially dangerous. You could also accidentally set the speed faster that you thought. All other cars with cruise control that I have owned or rented show the set speed on the display. According to online Dodge Challenger forums, this is a common complaint with this year and model car as well as others. The forum indicates that this may be a programming error/oversight. It has been into the dealer a couple times for several days. They confirmed that it happens on my car and all the cars in their lot of the same year and model. Stellantis stated that this was done by design since 2019 even though the owner's manual says the speed should show on the display. This issue has been present since I purchased the car in September 2023 and continues to this day. I, and others, would like the manufacturer to fix this problem. They acknowledge the issue exist, but continue to ignore it and refuse to fix it.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2016 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 12/08/2022

I was driving on the interstate and the acc/fcw light came on. Then soon after the abs light came on then the power steering system failed causing the steering wheel to lock while I was driving. I turned my car off in the emergency lane and restarted the car. All of them light when off but then the airbag warning light came on.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2015 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 02/27/2022

Adaptive cruise and forward collision warning failed regularly for 10 months. Dealers worked to find issue after having car in shop for collectively about 3 months. Dealer replaced parts, and finally determined it was a 4g adapter sold by uconnect- a part of Dodge parent corp. Mopar tech's were aware of it, yet to my knowledge they still sell the 4g service. Use of the adapter with remote start disables fcw and acc. I have pictures and documentation. They should stop selling this or fix software.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2019 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 12/15/2020

P1dab-00,u1412,p0716. Vehicle has shown codes above for 5 plus months. Codes cause vehicle to shift between gear randomly. I have taken vehicle to dealership but probably was not resolved; the dealership stated the problem was the speed sensor, so the switched them out only to find out later it was not the problem. Vehicle is unsafe; on one occasion the vehicle shift from the 8th gear to the 3rd while on the freeway almost causing an accident. Please resolve issue before someone is gravely injured.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2015 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 12/13/2017

2015 Challenger, wheel speed sensor failures starting at year two. Have replaced wheel speed sensors on 5 separate occasions. It has affected all wheel speed sensors and fron passenger replaced twice. All replacement parts are from dealer and are geniuine mopar replacements. Seems to be a very common issue, the parts are typically on backorder and it can be caused simply by going through a car wash.
