1 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Electrical system is currently failing. I was informed that I need a pdc wiring kit to replace the fuse box and the entire vehicle must be rewired. Usb charging ports do not work. Cigarette lighter ports to charge cellular devices do not work. Every time the service department at the dealership fixed a component to repair the radio a fuse was blown in another area of the vehicle in 2024. Currently 2025, I was told that the radio lost connection with amplifier. The screen of the radio is on. It is changing from station to station and there is no sound. The bluetooth connects to my phone but there is no sound. The display is working for sirius xm radio. The amplifier was replaced 2x's although there was nothing wrong with it. The radio was replaced although there was nothing wrong with it. Vehicle consistently lacks power, car drags when you switch lanes and accelerate, headlights were not working and replaced 3 times. I almost flew over a cliff because it was pitch black. I could not see the road in front of me. Door panel control was replaced because windows were stuck rolled down/rolled up. Keypad would not work to unlock the door. I had to climb into the car from the passenger side of the vehicle because the driver's side door was locking me out of the car. Batteries in keypads were replaced. Driver's side door was locking me inside of the car. I was forced to climb over the center console to get out of the car through the passenger side. I had issues with the shocks & struts. The michelin tires that came with the vehicles are cheap [xxx]. I replaced the tires with all-weather tires and consistently rotated them during oil changes. Uconnect radio issues occurred numerous times in my black 2017 Dodge Challenger gt model with leather interior and sunroof as well VIN ending [xxx]. I filed numerous complaints with Dodge customer service as well as uconnect. Cases # [xxx] opened with stellantis and the fca case [xxx]. 2 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2020 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/21/2024

Good afternoon, my right headlight wiring harness had rubbed on the frame down to the wires, actually meta l to metal and caused my head light to blow out and my turn signal to malfunction and there is no warning light for the headlight being out, I called the dealership and they said there's no recall and they want a lot of money to fix this problem, I'm afraid it may cause a fire, I've noticed this for about a week, I ordered a new light on 8/22 and that's when I noticed the bare wires.

6 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2019 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 05/24/2023

My 2019 Dodge Challenger gt harness has been compromised. The electrical system in a vehicle, including the headlight circuit, is designed to operate within specific parameters to ensure safety and reliability. When a harness is compromised it can cause an electrical short circuit. In my case, this short circuit is causing a fuse to melt. A fuse is a safety device designed to protect electrical circuits from overheating and potential fires by breaking the circuit when excess current flows through it. When a fuse melts due to an electrical short caused by a faulty harness, it means that excessive current is passing through the circuit. This situation can be dangerous for several reasons 1. Loss of headlights: the melted fuse interrupts the flow of electricity to the headlights, resulting in them going out completely. This sudden loss of visibility can be hazardous, especially at night or in lowlight conditions, increasing the risk of accidents. 2. Overheating: the excessive current passing through the compromised harness generates heat, often leading to melting or damage to surrounding components. This can potentially cause a fire hazard, posing a serious risk to both vehicle occupants and the car itself. 3. Electrical damage: in addition to the headlights, a compromised harness can affect other electrical components in the affected circuit, such as the turn signals, fog lights, or other lighting systems. It can also damage the vehicle's control modules and wiring, leading to further malfunctions and costly repairs. Replacing the faulty harness is crucial to restore the electrical integrity of the headlight circuit and ensure proper functionality. By replacing the harness, you eliminate the risk of further short circuits, melted fuses, and potential damage to other electrical components. It is essential to address these issues promptly to ensure your safety on the road and prevent any potential accidents caused by reduced visibility or electrical malfunctions.

7 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 09/01/2022

Per the car fax report provided at time of purchase. This car supposedly not been in any accidents. I noticed that the lights when on are not leveled. I took it to a local Dodge dealer to fix and to my surprise we were told that the lights were not leveled because the car had been in a wreck before. There is no physical damage from what we can see however the cost to repair or level required extra work in order to complete and cost was very high. I feel that Toyota of aneheim sold us a car knowing it had been in a wreck. When I called to see if they would repair they said no because I cannot prove that the problem existed before we purchased the r car. We have not been on any car accident and feel like Toyota does not care about making things right. . Read more...

8 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

Electrical system is going completely haywire. The display screen beeps as if being touched constantly causing driver distractions. Bluetooth hands free function makes random phone calls, hangs up and redials repeatedly causing driver distractions. The display also flashes from one setting to another, pulling up the navigation system and changing the route repeatedly causing driver distractions. Blindspot indicator does not work consistently which has caused at least one close call on the highway and could potentially lead to an accident. Turn signals will turn on but won't turn off unless driver works with them for several minutes which distracts the driver from the road. The tire pressure monitoring system is not accurate and indicates low tire pressure but tires are fine when checked which may cause the driver to become lesafaire about the tire pressure and miss an actual low tire and cause an accident.

10 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 04/06/2022

On April 6, 2022 at approximately 2300 I was driving 65 mph on an old two lane highway when all lighting on the instrument cluster, steering wheel, touchscreen, kick panels, and both headlights went out causing me to drive off the road momentarily as I was in a curve. For several moments all of these components would light up and off erratically. During this event, my windows also began rolling up and down on their own. I immediately turned on my hazard lights and began to slow down to look for a place to pull over. This was a long and empty stretch of old highway and there was no shoulder to pull onto. At this point my hazard lights became faulty as well and would not flash at times. The safety of myself and others were at risk because during this event that lasted approximately five minutes, all aforementioned components would fault for moments at a time and there were times that I could not see the roadway or obstacles in front of me, I could not see my speed, I could not reliably use my hazard lights to warn other drivers. Other drivers would have had a near impossible time seeing me, such as the semi truck driver who almost hit me then flashed his brights and laid on his air horn when my lights had cut off. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure and none after either.

12 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 01/14/2022

The inner taillight assembly has moisture/condensation inside. I've checked with the dealer and it's not under warranty and no recalls. However, after doing some checking, it sounds like this is an ongoing problem with the Challengers. This is obviously a defect that needs to be addressed. Several people have posted that the moisture then led to their lights no working at all.

13 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 03/05/2020

When in park for a few minutes, the interior lights will dim, then the engine sounds a little rough for a couple of seconds. Within a few of minutes of that happening, the engine will turn off by itself. It's happened several times. I changed the air filter and used fuel injection cleaner. However, it did it again about a week or two later. I'm wondering if the alternator is going bad. The last time it happened was 3/5/2020.

This morning while I was driving down a curvy dark country road at about 60 miles per hour, the car just shut off, all power was lost. Lights and everything. Lost power steering, power brakes, all lighting. We were very lucky we did not crash, but this issue is very dangerous. I believe that this vehicle should be included in the following recall as it describes specifically what happened to my vehicle. P60/NHTSA 14v-634.

20 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 10/18/2016

Exterior lights flash constantly when car is parked and turned off. Sometimes the lights don't flash, they simply will not turn off at all after car is turned off. Has had a relay replaced 3 times since the car was purchased at the end of 2014, the issue described has killed the battery numerous times. Nowadays the interior lights flash constantly as well when the car is turned on. No recall has been issues on this VIN but this 4 year old car with 65000 miles has been worked on 6 times in just the last two years due to countless issues that include the worst and most persistent issue, being the faulty lighting. Other issues include the oxygen sensor malfunctioning resulting in the engine rattling when slowing down or accelerating and high fuel consumption ( a full gas tank would be empty within three days driving locally in a five mile radius) as well as traction control failing resulting in near accidents.

23 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2011 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 04/17/2015

I was driving home on 4/17/15 in my 2011 Dodge Challenger when all the warning lights on the dash started flashing, the radio was going on and off, the lights went dim, but the scariest thing was the car suddenly lost all power, it was still running but it acted like it was on 2 cylinders, almost got rammed by the car behind me!! had car towed to dealer, will call them tomorrow. This is a very dangerous flaw in the system and will result in future loss of life if not corrected!!!!.

24 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2012 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 11/16/2014

While driving home with my 11yr old son my car started making a high pitch sound. Then all the dashboard lights came on and the car stalled. Due to no electrical power, I couldn't use my emergency lights. To prevent rear end crash, I had to hand signal to cars to go around. Vehicle was towed to my home. Had the car diagnosed and was told the alternator had went bad. The cost for parts and labor is 900-1000$. I have not had the vehicle fixed. I contacted Chrysler and was told the list was still being compiled of VIN's affected and they would begin to notify customers Dec 5th. Chrysler is not reimbursing for any towing or rental car expenses due to this recall.

25 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2011 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 10/18/2014

I own a 2011 Dodge Challenger that was purchased brand new off the show room floor in the latter part of 2011. I was leaving work on this Sunday and pulled out of the parking lot to merge into traffic. Within five or ten minutes of having pulled off my car began a complete shut down. The windows wouldn't go up or down. The power steering went out. The radio and lights all went black. Also the car cut off completely while I was driving!!!! I nearly caused a major accident in the middle of a busy intersection. Luckily the surrounding drivers were paying attention and did not hit me. Im mortified with this experience. My car is only three years old and I'm currently paying a nearly $600 note on it. It's so unacceptable and to make matters worse, when I contacted Dodge, the only recourse they advised was to contact the dealer and have the repairs done and apply for reimbursement whenever the recall is announced. When I asked if they would be willing to have a dealer come pick up the car as it is currently inoperable, they said that the towing fees would be my responsibility as well & probably would not be reimbursed. The customer service reps both times I called were of little or no help at all and seemed genuinely unconcerned that my vehicle cut off while I was driving!!! my call to the dealership was the same. I have had all maintenance for my vehicle performed at the Dodge dealership from oil changes to tire replacement. I've been a loyal customer & even done referrals for the dealership. This is by far the worst experience I've had with any car company and I am so disappointed. I will never purchase anything else from the Chrysler brand. I noticed the recall even includes the cars they are currently selling on the lots (2014 models) so please beware and warn anyone you know to stay away from Chrysler & its products. They dont care about you or your safety.

27 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2010 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 01/15/2014

Vehicle was parked, with all power off, windows up, doors locked. Passenger rear quarter panel marker light shorted and caught fire, resulting in charred paint, melted light assembly, melted wiring, and melted rear bumper.

28 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2012 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 11/26/2011

The Challenger srt8 is not equipped with a dash illumination system, which comes on, during normal daytime driving. The instruments (speedo, tach) are only illuminated during operation of the parking or headlamps function. The guages are somewhat recessed and are only partially visible during daytime driving conditions. Further, when turning on the headlamps, during daytime operation, the amount of illumination available, with the adjustment at maximum brightness, is still at a minimum value. This presents an obvious safety issue as to speed of vehicle, engine rpms and vital engine temperature readings.
