My car's engine stalls without warning while driving. I had problems with this when I bought the car within the same week from a used car dealer. It now affects my headlights by making them flash on and off while driving. The car has been in and out of the shop for the past year and no one can seem to find the issue. There is a past time device installed which interfered with the security system. The dealership took out the security system and shortly thereafter the engine stalls began. Engine stalls occur while driving or stopped at traffic lights. It happens randomly but not often. The headlights happen everyday and is getting worse. The vehicle is becoming undrivable but no service tech can find the issue.
While driving my headlights, and parking lights flicker like a christmas tree or sometimes just go out, for a few seconds. I notice this happens in the cold weather especially.
The headlights on my car started flashing almost every time I turn them on, and this is forcing me to not be able to drive at night. It started with a flash on 12/2/2014, and now it occurs every time I drive the vehicle. I have been told that it could be anything in the front end causing a short and have checked for recalls but this is not a determined recall at this time. The dealership has been no help and wants to charge extra money just to look at it. Considering I have seen many other drivers with the same make/ model/ year vehicle in car forums and blogs regarding this very same issue, I'm hoping this report will help push for an investigation as I have to drive for my employment and do not want to get a traffic ticket for faulty equipment.
I was on my way to work Tuesday morning and my headlights, foglights & dashboard lights kept flickering off & on even when the knob was turned off. I called Dodge to see if there was a recall I was told that it wasn't. However, after reading the blogs & reviews this appears to be an ongoing problem with the same year, make & model that I have.
While driving approximately 60 m. P. H. On the freeway, all engine lights came on and the needles all dropped. They quickly returned to normal and the engine did not falter, radio did not go off, etc. This has happened several times over the course of 2 months and I took it to the station where they could find nothing wrong. About 2 months later, the headlights began to flicker on and off, sometimes for 10 seconds or more. This has been happening for about 4 days. I checked all the fuses and they appear secure. The car is currently back at the station to be checked again. As it is December, I can't be without headlights on my morning and evening commute to/from work.
