It is a know problem with Chrysler's and Dodge's. Plastic shift lever release breaks which will not allow the car to come out of park. Some cars were recalled others with the exact same part were not. Mine was one of the cars not recalled. Search the web for "Dodge car stuck in park". There are 1000's of comments and posts about this defective part.
2007 police package Dodge Charger was involved in a vehicle pursuit of a suspected intoxicated driver. As Charger proceeded through an intersection, it was involved in a multi-vehicle collision resulting in a vehicle fire.
