I have a push to start and my car will not shut off it keeps saying that the car is not in park. At this time I am not able to drive car because of this problem, the only way I was able to get the car to shut off was I had to let it run out ot gas and now it is just sitting in the parking lot not able to be driven.
My car has 11 recalls. I don't know if they have been repaired yet. When I drive and I change lanes. My car move all across the road. Especially if I hit a bump. Also when it get up to 60. It shakes really bad. I look up recalls it say 11 but I haven't receive anything in the mail.
The car gave an error message vehicle not in par. Could not turn engine off. Eventually car began to overheat and caused blown head gaskets. Have to get an entire new engine and replace shifter and push to start system.
This is the second time I have had to fix my fuel pump. And when I drive smell gas. My car is a ticking time bomb.
When I make slow left turn I hear grinding noise. The other problem is now my engine light is on. Sometimes my car smells as though it is burning after I drive it for a while and then I put it in park and turn the car off.
Vehicle was parked in a private condominium parking lot in lubbock, TX and popped out of park while it was running. It rolled backwards and hit a curb and bush. Driver's door was left open and driver was standing nearby. Attempted to move but was hit by the door causing some injuries. $7200 dollars worth of damage was done to the vehicle. It is unknown if it is a transmission issue or electrical.
Hvac heater blend door actuator are failing across all Chrysler and Dodge models, causing a loud knocking/clicking sound behind the dash and the steering column. There are thousands of people needing this replacement, these parts need to be recalled immediately.
Airbag clockspring. Controls horn, as I understand there are many that have had and continue to have problems with this clockspring.
Blind spot detection unavailable- I purchased a Dodge mopar 11 Charger that has a safety feature called blind spot detection. The blind spot indicators are located on the drivers and passengers side view mirrors. When a car approaches either side of the vehicle, a little orange triangle lights up to let the driver know that another vehicle is in its blind spot. In June of 2016, I started my car and and I got the "blind spot detection unavailable" error on my hud. In addition, both triangles on the side view mirrors were on. After conducting some research online, I found a way to turn off the blind spot detection system through the cars settings. However, the issue still persists and when the blind spot detection is turned on, the triangles light up and the system says its not available. This feature was not inclusive to just Dodge Chargers, but also other Chrysler vehicles with the blind spot detection system. There are several threads and videos online of disgruntled owners of Chrysler vehicles that have the same issue. I have learned from talking to the dealer, that my car (Dodge mopar 11 which has 36k miles on it) has two sensors that are located in the bumper of the vehicle that cost $1,100 a piece excluding installation of the new sensors. In essence, this is a "latent" safety defect of poor design and could potentially lead to the loss of life. If I had known that this safety feature was intrinsically defective, I would have never purchased this vehicle. Chrysler needs to acknowledge this defect in their blind spot detection equipped vehicles and issue a recall that resolves the safety issue.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Charger. While driving 30 mph, the headlamps and all the warning lights on the instrument cluster illuminated. In addition, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the vehicle jerked. I had to apply force to the steering wheel. Car was taken to Dodge dealer ship I received a call and stated that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. I replace both things and car still having same isue.
I have the following issues with my 2011 Dodge Charger 1 - the vehicle has "clicking" noise coming from the front passenger side when powering on the vehicle's heater. The noise lasts for about 25 seconds before it stops. This is a constant re-occurrence. The noise also occurs randomly, both when the vehicle is powered on and off. 2 - the trunk keeps popping open every time I start the vehicle. It also opens randomly throughout the day, even when the vehicle is locked and secured. The only method to open the trunk now is from the button inside the vehicle located on the dash. 3 - the braking system is sometimes hesitant when trying to stop the vehicle. I do not have official paperwork pertaining to these incidents as of current, however, I am finding that people who own this make and model in similar years are experiencing similar issues.
On sept 27,2015 without warning my gear shift became stuck in park. I was not able to move the gear shift out of park. I was not able to pick up my daughter from another part of town who was stranded by herself for 1 hr plus. As a car owner I'm livid because this has been a danger and inconvenience. This car has less than 80,000 miles on it and should not have these issues. I know I'm not the first and wont be the last with this compliant. This part should be placed under investigation and the part should be recalled.
Started car Wednesday morning. Struggled to start but did start. Later that day went to put gas and struggled even longer to start but did. Immediately drove it straight to a mechanic and car would no longer start. All you heard was clicking. Had it towed 40 miles away to my local dealership. They confirmed it was the starter. Really?? starter issues at 83000?? so far have had to replace cam shaft sensor, faulty headlamps, air bags, abs and brake system, alternator, battery, valve cover gaskets, and now starter. Car is only 4 years old.
Engine came on. Car would not start. Had to jump start car.
On start up, the tire pressure monitoring system light came on. I checked the tire pressure read out for all tires and found I was not receiving a reading from the right rear wheel. I contacted a local shop to fix the problem and was told there was recall for 2011 and 2012 Charger's with police group. I was told my vehicle didn't qualify when I called the dealer where I bought it and would have to pay for the repair. Car only has a little over 24k miles and is 3 1/2 years old. This is poor quality issue. This was the first new car I bought since 1974 and am very disappointed.
Battery save mode alert came on then abs light came on then vehicle completely died. Battery will recharge then completely drain after multiple attempts to start vehicle. Had battery checked & battery is still good.
While driving my 2011 Dodge Charger on the highway going about 55mph, I started to hear a whiny or hissing noise coming from under the hood I continued to drive to my destination and all of a sudden a battery saver mode light came on the brakes got really hard to control the car then it just shutoff . With the brakes being that hard to press to control the car it was very hard to try to pull over the side of the rode, I final got the car at a complete stop . I waited for a while car still wouldn't start so I had relative come remove the battery to have it checked at auto zone which they said the battery was good just need a charge ,they charged the battery for me we got it back in the car the long enough for me to make it home. The next day went out to start the car still hearing the noise and the battery saver light was still on was able to drive to local part store they checked the alternator it was no good the guy told me the voltage that it was giving out my car was running only off battery so I had to rush back home before the car shutdown again in traffic which was dangerous to me and my unborn. I spoke with the dealership they told me sounds like my alternator is bad and to bring it in for them to check which is $97. 99+ tax and total repairs would be around 600-$750. 00 which is totally unaffordable. He also stated its a known issue by Chrysler and they will begin a recall and notify customers at the end of November but when I call Chrysler customer service they have no updates . This is the 2nd recall since I had this car I was thinking about the 2015model as my next car but the way things are going with Dodge I think not. I just want my vehicle repaired under the recall guidelines and wish they could start it a little sooner please!.
Vehicle stopped in the middle of the street. All electrical equipment appeared to fail. Upon inspecting the hood, there was smoke coming from where the alternator appears to be. Appears to be alternator.
After refueling my 2011 Dodge Charger and turning it on a strong smell of gas filled the car. When I pulled over after driving a while I checked the gas tank door to make sure it was sealed and it was. I walked around the car to see if I could see any leaks there was none but there was a strong gas order coming from the back passenger side door/wheel and back driver side door/wheel, now I can only fill my tank half way. The driver side a/c was making a clicking sound whenever I would put it on and it would take a while to adjust to the setting I would want. The clicking noise would continue while the a/c was on . After a while the clicking noise would stop but there would be a humming noise. Now the driver side a/c only blows hot air and so does the back a/c.
I was driving home and a message came up that said battery saver mode. When I stopped at a red light and pulled off the car started to shut down. The car shut completely down but luckily I was next to a parking lot and was able to pull in.
I was pulling into the residential area that I live in at approximately 17 mph and my stereo shut off, and I noticed on the dashboard a warning message that read "power saving mode" then the abs light and the stability control light came on along with the lightning bolt came on, then the air shut off and it felt like the heater was turned on, the dashboard show the temperature being 105 and there was a weird smell that came through the ac vents. I was able to push the vehicle into my driveway and upon opening the hood of the vehicle you could feel the heat immediately and when attempting to jump start the car the car would turn on but then when the jumper cables where removed the vehicle's wipers began to wipe and the same issues as before began occurring. I called one of my friends that is a Dodge technician and he said that based on the information I told him he was 95% sure that it was a bad alternator. This is a 2011 Dodge Charger with 66,000 miles. This should be recalled immediately to help those that have had this problem and to avoid any more owners have this problem.
2011 Dodge Charger. Malfunction in starting.
Was driving and the power saver mode came on the car. Saw smoke, checked the engine and the alternator was smoking. Something needs to be done. This car is 3 years old with 60,000 miles on it. That is ridiculous. The car has not went through anything stenos. We are at a lost for words and then when called and asked about it there is nothing that can be done without further investigation. Please investigate, there are too many complaints about this. This is costing over 800 dollars, this is ridiculous on a low mile low year car, right after the warranty goes out. Please investigate and do something, thanks.
Driving at 25 mph, warning lights came on for different functions. Odd sound coming from motor. The information message alert lit up. Checked it, and the message alert was "battery saver mode". Odd smell (electrical) coming from the engine. Parked, closed windows, shut the car off. Went to restart car and it wouldn't start. Had a friend try to jump with cables, and it didn't work. Called for tow truck to come and take to dealer. I have a bumper to bumper lifetime warranty. Dealer can't "look" at it until tomorrow. It has been almost 2 hours wait for tow truck,(promised to be here an hour ago. ).
I was driving noticed my car had a slight louder sound coming from the engine like it was rived up. As I was driving I noticed the abs lights came on; traction light; and engine light all flashed across the screen and went off. Then I started smelling a strong burning smell I had mad it to my destination cut the car off. I went to crank the car back up ;nothing happened car had lost all prior my windows, doors all locked up would not roll up or down or doors unlock had to call a tow truck. Car had no power completely black screens everything shutdown.
Abs light came on car running rough and black smoke under hood. In traffic and my son almost had accident exiting roadway. Found to be alternator and this is an ongoing issue with 2011/12 Dodge Chargers according to dealership. .
I was driving and all of a sudden the car started smoking and then started to decelerate. I pulled over to the side to take a look under the hood and heard a buzzing/ringing noise from the engine. I slowly drove to auto zone to get a diagnostic and it read alternator.
I bought a 2011 Charger in 2012. Dec 11 2013 my son was stranded in the cold with a dead alternater. It cost a fortune for tow, new alternater, labor ($865. 00) . That is unacceptable for a 2 year old car and owners should be compensated.
I had pulled out of a parking lot maybe made it half a mile. The abs light came on the traction light came smoke was pouring out the hood. Before I could pull in the parking lot my lights went out before I could safely get in a place to park my steering would not work. My car has very few miles on it and has been taken care of. The car was completely dead. If you look back on this car an all the recalls. There is complaint after complaint on alternators.
Hi we need your help to warn and let the public know what Dodge is doing to there customers. About 3 months ago my 4 month perganent girl was driving our 2011 Dodger to work, she was on the high way on the center lane when the car with a warning just completely shut down. She had no control of the car, luckily the traffic was not bad that she mange to walk a cross the highway and call her father. He went to get her and pushed the car to the breakdown lane. We had the car towed to a mechanic and he said our altenetor was completely burned and he said he never seen one that bad. We contacted Dodge and they told us they was not aware of any problems, but on the Dodge forum online hundreds of Dodge Charger owners was having the same problem. We been contacting Dodge for 3 months now while spending money on rental and they finally told us its been recalled, but they don't have a preminet fix for it all they can do is a temparory fix and it can burn out again.
