general problems of the 2011 Dodge Charger

The driver's side wheel had a loud metal on metal scraping noise, both with braking and without braking, in both drive and in reverse positions. The noise only lasted for approximately two miles and could not be replicated, when I arrived at the tire place. They did replace some brake hardware on that side, saying that it was a thin metal piece behind the brake pad was bent. But now, two weeks later the wheel was making the same noise but not as loudly and it also went away on its own after driving a few miles. In addition my drivers front tire is terribly out of alignment and wore the outer edge of the tire nearly bald. I do not know if this is associated with the brake hardware or not, I have not fully investigated it yet. When the tire shop did an alignment on my car they were unable to correct my alignment problem. They told me that it had to do with the way that the motor was sitting in my car. My car is an all-wheel-drive and it was into the Dodge dealership for the timing chain guide recall a year ago. My tires at that point time we're only two years old now they are only three years old. The uneven wear on the tire has been within the last year. At the recall repair my car had 33,000 miles on it and currently my car has 43,000 miles on it. I had new tires put on at 18,000 miles.

Key ignition.

I was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden my radio turns off, then my abs and tread light come on along with a light that says "brake now. " I come to a stop and then everything shuts off. I can not push the brake to start the car back up and a burning electrical smell is coming from the hood. I have to manually lock my doors as the alarm does not work, then my windshield wipers start going off. Based off of research a lot of people are having these issues and saying it is the alternator. That is unacceptable for a 2011.

This is the second alternator in two years both burned up. Charger 2011 model sucks big time. So many problems with this car. Chrysler should recall the alternator. I know others are having the same problem. . . Updated 07/23/14 the consumer stated the day the alternator burned up, the vehicle was loosing power while driving. There was a burning smell. The radio and dashboard grew dim and then went blank. The rear tire had to be replaced every 2-3 months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where they agreed something was wrong, for the tires to be wearing prematurely. She was told, it was the tow-bar, and the repair cost was $640. However, the dealer paid half of the repair. After the repair, the rear tires still needed to be replaced, every 2-3 months. The cruise control worked for about two months. The driver side head lights burned out every two weeks.

2011 Dodge Charger. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle automatic transmission defect. The consumer stated there was a 2nd and 3rd delay upon acceleration at certain speeds. The dealer performed a flash on the transmission and he was informed the transmission needed to re-learn his driving habits. After driving over 700 miles, the 3 second delay was and still is constant, the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer on September 27, 2012, and he received a call the following the day, and was informed the transmission was operating within parameters. Immediately,upon leaving the dealer, the consumer noticed the vehicle was riding very rough. The tires were re-balanced and an alignment was performed. The consumer also noticed the steering wheel was not centered properly, and the vehicle pulled to the right.
