The contact stated that the independent facility ganas auto southgate (4730 firestone blvd southgate, CA 90280, 1-323-364-5004) who sold the vehicle, made no mention that there had been 4 recalls concerning NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v043000 (structure), 16v240000 (power train), 15v467000 (air bags and seat belts) and 16v352000 (air bags). The contact stated that on 04/19/18 (Thursday) while driving approximately 35 mph, there was a sudden loss of power, the vehicle veered to the right accelerating at a high rate of speed, the brake pedal was applied with force, the brake pedal failed to respond and the contact crashed on the side of the road. The driver sustained head injuries due to no air bag deployment, back pains, arm pains, chest pains and lost conscience. The driver was transported to a hospital to receive further medical treatment. A police report was filed. None of the air bags deployed and the contact was uncertain as to which failure may or may not have been related to the 4 recalls because the contact was not made aware of the recall campaigns when the vehicle was sold and had not been notified by us mail from the manufacturer. The vehicle was towed to a yard and then towed back to the independent facility. The vehicle has not been inspected and diagnosed by an authorized dealer.
