Tl- takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the independent facility ganas auto southgate (4730 firestone blvd southgate, CA 90280, 1-323-364-5004) who sold the vehicle, made no mention that there had been 4 recalls concerning NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v043000 (structure), 16v240000 (power train), 15v467000 (air bags and seat belts) and 16v352000 (air bags). The contact stated that on 04/19/18 (Thursday) while driving approximately 35 mph, there was a sudden loss of power, the vehicle veered to the right accelerating at a high rate of speed, the brake pedal was applied with force, the brake pedal failed to respond and the contact crashed on the side of the road. The driver sustained head injuries due to no air bag deployment, back pains, arm pains, chest pains and lost conscience. The driver was transported to a hospital to receive further medical treatment. A police report was filed. None of the air bags deployed and the contact was uncertain as to which failure may or may not have been related to the 4 recalls because the contact was not made aware of the recall campaigns when the vehicle was sold and had not been notified by us mail from the manufacturer. The vehicle was towed to a yard and then towed back to the independent facility. The vehicle has not been inspected and diagnosed by an authorized dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the crash months after the crash. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The approximate failure mileage was not available. In addition, when the accelerator pedal was applied, the vehicle was slow to accelerate. The vehicle had to be towed more than once and was inspected as well as diagnosed by an independent mechanic. Tl * the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. While driving 70 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The other motorist lost control of the vehicle, struck the front end of the contact's vehicle, and became airborne until it crashed into an embankment. The seat belt failed to restrain the contact and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact suffered injuries to the face, neck, and back. The rear seat belt also failed to restrain the passenger. As a result, neck and back injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed to the contact's insurance company for further inspection. The manufacturer stated that the seat belt and air bag failures were not caused by a manufacturer defect. The failure mileage was 90,837.
