The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that there was a strong gasoline odor coming from the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to ramey Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (127 frazier dr, princeton, wv 24739) where the evaporated gas canister was replaced under an unknown recall; however, the failure persisted after the repair. The contact then took the vehicle to another dealer for an inspection and a diagnostic test determined that the fuel pump and the connector pump had melted; they also informed her that fuel had been leaking from the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle nearly caught on fire due to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 193,000.
