I came home from work, (drove 18 miles) and parked, walked towards my building and I heard a noise, as if something turned on under the hood. Like a electrical motor spinning. And it was not the fan because that one had already turned off. I walk back to the car and pop the hood, white smoke starts coming out and in less than 2 minutes a huge flame comes straight out from the passenger side of the hood. Called the fire department. Fire was on for 4 minutes, neighbor mechanics came running with fire extinguishers and put out the fire before the firefighters arrived. Too many parts melted and damaged. So far estimate is at $4,000. I do not have the estimate on paper, since at the moment I did not have budget to fix my car. My car was perfectly fine, services got done regularly. Never had issues other than wear and tear. I've had that car for almost 10 years.
I am the second owner to own this car had it for 4 months only 27,000 miles I called my dealer to see about the gear shifting cable recall that happened but they said it was fixed in 2019, my car was driving fine now it is no longer shifting out of park I think the recall was not done correctly.
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v674000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to autozone to test the battery, alternator, and transmission fluid. A mechanic diagnosed that the thermostat was sticking. The vehicle was then taken to another mechanic, who replaced an ac cord due to liquid leaking from underneath the vehicle. This mechanic suggested replacing the thermostat if the check engine warning light remained illuminated. While at a stop sign, the vehicle jerked before accelerating, and while driving approximately 35-45 mph. The vehicle was driven to the mother's residence, where the vehicle remained for 3 days before being restarted. The vehicle remained parked for approximately a week before the contact drove back to the residence, and the check engine warning light and the battery light were illuminated. The vehicle remained parked while the wheel bearing, headlights, and oil change were repaired. A certified mechanic replaced the thermostat, and another inspected the vehicle but could not identify any other failures. After the repair was completed, the contact noticed that the vehicle continued to jerk while driving at various speeds, and the sensation was more prominent whenever the ac unit was activated. While driving approximately 35 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle decelerated, the battery light illuminated, and the vehicle lost power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and coast downhill into their grandmother's driveway nearby. After waiting a minute, the contact started the vehicle and was able to drive to the residence, approximately 5 minutes away, at 20 mph to avoid additional failure. The vehicle was taken to autozone, where no battery or alternator failure was found. The mechanic suggested it might b.
The car keeps stalling and several scans, thousands into repairs to include the dealership itself. I’m convinced that it’s one of the recalls power train and engine keeps randomly stalling. This is a huge safety concern that will result in an accident. It happens after start up, at stop lights and signs and randomly throughout driving. I don’t feel safe and I’m taking it back to the dealership to do the job right .
Electrical system crashes which makes the car lose the ability to brake, accelerate, and steer. The center display and general display both go out at random times. Sometimes more issues are prevalent when this happens and sometimes less. I do have several videos of this issue occurring.
Airbags. The light did not come on upon start up of vehicle. Electrical. My radio, display on dashboard and bluetooth would blink off and on. I think that my sons safety and mine were at risk because of the malfunctioning of the airbags if an accident would have occurred they wouldn't deploy. I took it into the dealer, but they didn't seem concerned. They fixed some things and it costs around $3500. The only thing I noticed was the flashing off and on of the dashboard display which shows your speed and mileage on the vehicle and my airbag light did not display at all. My VIN number was covered up with a sticker on the dashboard of my vehicle as well and the one on the drivers door was missing. My car was stolen from ohio and I found it in oregon at capitol Toyota. Dodge Dart 2016.
The transmission gear is notb shiftingb and the car is cutting off oin the freeway and also at stop signs and stop lights. Oil changes and transmission fluids have been checked and changed problem still happening.
Gear jumped into neutral and then reverse while driving and got stuck in reverse .
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph there was a loud abnormal "bang" sound and the vehicle lost forward momentum. The vehicle went dark, there was no electrical power, the vehicle would not start. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer who could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure occurred two more times, and had been able to drive the vehicle to the dealer, who was able to diagnose the failure on the third visit. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the onboard computer needed to be reset as well as the battery needed replacing. The vehicle had been repaired, however the contact stated that the vehicle failure had reoccurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,815. VIN unavailable.
Blind spot detection says 'unavailable'. The first time this happened, it was followed by the radio & heater randomly turning off & on and all things electrical flashing off and on every few seconds. It was taken to the dealership & found the turn signal socket to show a high resistance when hot. After just over a month of everything working normally, it has now gone back to square one, starting with the blind spot sensors, just as before. Uploads are from when I had the car at the dealership in may. Blind spot sensors acting up once again on 6/20/22. Which is the date I put for when the incident occured.
The car battery keeps dying even though it's a new battery. Alternator isn't the problem either. A bunch of blown fuses relating to the starting of the car. Around the time this issue started the computer also had an issue and we can no longer connect to bluetooth and the odometer is blinking.
I cranked my car up and backed it down the driveway with no problem. When I went to put it in drive it; the gear shift would move to to drive but the car would no shift in any other gear. I’ve restarted it multiple times and it will no go into any gear only stays in park, but the gear shifter will move.
The key gets stuck in the ignition. Says it's in park but vehicle was not had to hit the shifter really hard to make sure was in park.
Every time the car is driven, the screen, blacks out and the radio shuts off. It then "reboots" and works for a little bit before the screen goes white and "reboots". Also when this happens, the gauge cluster dims to the point where it is barely visible. Some commutes, it only happens once or twice, others, its seems like its every 5 minutes or so. It happens at random times, accelerating, turning, at a stop, etc.
My radio screen periodically blips off and resets, while driving.
My Dodge Dart has done this several times now where it won't start early in the morning, typically on colder mornings. I'll try to start it and nothing happens, yet all my lights are working including radio and ac. I tried jumping thinking maybe it was the battery and still nothing. It's not turning over or clicking at all and the gauges are go crazy. I haven't been able to bring it to the shop but this seems to be an on going issue.
The clock and radio will cut out and when they do the odometer flashes. After hitting the cd player to eject the disc the clock will turn back on but the radio takes a little to start working again. Once the radio and clock are back on the odometer stops flashing. The longest it has done this was 2 weeks.
All the lights in the vehicle vent out, the digital dashboard the touch screen everything that lights up went out. The motor almost died and started to sputter. When I accelerate it has no power then it will take off then no power. When I am stopped the idle is so low it almost dies and the entire car shakes very hard. This started while I was driving at about 30 mph.
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that she was unable to adjust the heat to defrost the windshield. She was concerned that she would be unable to see the road in the rain. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a nearby dealer. The manufacturer provided case number: 71380634. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that several unknown warning indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 19v293000 (power train). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Stuteville Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (3001 n broadway st, poteau, ok 74953) was contacted and stated that the part was not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.
"takara recall" I started noticed squeaking when pressing the breaks. This automatically making me assume that my brakes/brake pads were going bad. I took it to a local shop and after checking it out they suggested the brakes were fine and that I needed to take it to the dealership. Before I was able to do so, I had complete brake failure. I was attempting to come to a stop when the brake pedal was pressed all the way down and the vehicle was not slowing nor were the brakes catching. Thus resulting in an accident. The Dart is a total loss. My life as well as my children's lives were put in danger. All airbags deployed and another vehicle was hit as well.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the battery warning light illuminated. Tl the contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2016 Dodge Dart. While driving approximately 65-75 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to daytona Dodge (located at 1450 n tomoka farms rd, suite a, daytona beach, FL 32124, (386) 274-0571) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 49,826.
Turn signals day time lights keep burning.
The vehicles gauges make a noisy clicking sound after you turn off the vehicle. The lights on the dash and the lights on the steering wheel toggle on and off while this is happening. It continues for 30 to 60 minutes. You can take the key our and it still does it. This prevents me from taking any rest stop when drowsy and has nearly killed me. The noise keeps the driver awake when they try to stop and sleep. It forces the driver to drive drowsy. The dealership is apparently unable to repair it. I bought the car used and it's done it ever since I bought it. It's the most dangerous car I have ever driven.
I have been recently having issue with my 2016 Dodge Dart which I have only had for exactly a year this past oct. While driving in motion the car can just shut off. It has happened while on city streets as well as highways. I have torn my car to get testing where there is no code found and no lights come back on once the car starts up. I was told my battery was no good a couple months back replaced the battery and now car troubles again. I have been reading a lot of reviews where this is happening to a lot of people. This is extremely dangerous and I am in disbelief nothing has been done about this. Are we waiting for someone to die to take action ??????.
I have a 2016 Dodge Dart with a 2. 4 liter engine. The car has 16000 miles on it. Starting this week, the car sometimes will not start. I would put the key in the ignition, turn to start and nothing. All the lights on the dashboard come on but it won't turn over. I found out by accident if you move the shift lever through the gears it will start. At first I thought it was my fob needed a battery replacement, so I replaced it only to see that that was not the problem!.
Takata recall. Car started fine drove about a 1/2 mile and turned them vehicle just died. Engine stopped dead in its tracks, ax still blowing just a little warm, radio continues to play, all lights are on as normal. But battery light is flashing. Put car in park in the middle of the road!! to restart, car starts right up and drives fine. No check engine light or any signs of problems.
While driving this car at multiple speeds, the car slows down and comes to a complete stop, I hear a noise and the gas pedal vibrates, the steering and gas pedal locks up. This event has happened 3 times within four days leaving from my garage, on the interstate and a city street. The car was taken to the dealership lakeland Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram and I was told the car was driven by the technician 11 miles and there was no incident and at this point the car can no longer be driven due to a gash in the tire. However, a multi-point inspection, oil change and tire rotation was done on the vehicle 8/22/2017 and a gash in the tire was not noted on any paperwork nor was it reported as a problem.
The instrument cluster will lose power with all the computer's emergency lights illuminated on the dash. The speedometer and tachometer both read zero. I need to use the vehicle's on-board navigation system to estimate speed on long drives. The car still drives at interstate speeds with no speedometer/tachometer reading and every emergency light on the instrument cluster illuminated. The longest distance driven using the gps was at least 50 miles. Sometimes the error lasts for only 5 to 10 miles and then the speedometer/tachometer both start to function again. I have heard a popping sound and another time when this error occurred, I smelled a burning rubber smell. Turning on and off the ignition system once or twice, clears the error on the instrument cluster. We have taken the vehicle to the same stew hansen Dodge dealer three times in the last 7 months and they cannot replicate the issue, but they can real all the error codes on their data loggers. There is a communication error between the pcm and the instrument cluster, as logged in the vehicle's computer. The dealer has attempted trouble-shooting with fca's star service and has attempted ground wire repairs and cleanings. The dealer indicated their dealership no longer could continue funding repairs to my vehicle, since they cannot replicate the exact issue and that I should make the selling dealer repair this electrical defect or lose ground wire issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. While driving 25 mph on a rainy day, the windshield wipers failed to work without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (eastchester Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram located at 4007 boston rd, bronx, NY 10466; (718) 547-5500) where it was diagnosed and repaired, but the contact was not sure of the specific repairs. The contact stated that the failure recurred two other times. While driving in the rain, the windshield wipers failed to stop without warning. The contact stopped the windshield wipers by disconnecting the battery. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired again. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

S83 / NHTSA 16v-813 voltage spike in windshield washer pump. Took 2016 Dart to local dealership for recall work on 3/8/17. Upon return of my vehicle, noticed an electrical arc sound, a loud bumping sound, when engaging the 'flash headlights' feature. The electrical arc sound never occurred prior to the recall work. The sound emits from under the hood where the head lamps are located. When I went back the next day to inquire about the new sound, the dealership tried three new Darts on the lot that make the same noise. My complaint is to question the safety of the replacement part as prescribed by the recall notice. The dealer said it was normal, but this electrical arc sound has never occurred on any car I've ever been around during my 55 years. I want NHTSA to look into if the replacement part used on my car and put in Darts manufactured recently is actually safe. Is the electrical arc noise by design or does it indicate a need to recall the replacement part to avoid safety problems such as malfunction or fire?.
