Speed Control Cable Problems of Dodge Dart

The transmission has gone out after the gasket was replaced at the Dodge dealer as a recall. It will not change gears and tries to start out in 4th gear. When you do get it to pull itself the rpm's are 3. 5. The dealer ships say's that they could not have caused the issue but it ran fine before the transmission had the recall replacement of the transmission cable. The cruise control works only if you set it as soon s you start the car, if you don't it will not engage or come on. There is a check engine light that comes on and even when it is on the dealership cannot find any trouble codes. This is gt and I love the car but it does not run 80% of the time.

There's an active recall on my 2013 Dodge Dart aero for the shifting cable bushing. I was driving home from work and my traction control light came on, I lost the ability to accelerate, my car wasn't registering it was in park so I couldn't turn it off. I had it towed to a dealership on main street in norristown, PA. Mopar said the part won't be shipped to dealers for the recall until the end of August so they want to put another faulty part in. They are telling me I have to pay for it and mopar says they are not doing at repayments. They have also refused to give me a loaner car in the mean time. I don't feel as a consumer that I should have to pay for this or a rental because this is a recall issue. It is not safe to drive this car. I was very lucky no one else was on the road when mine failed, and that I was able to pull over safely without harming myself or anyone else.

Weve had issues with the car since day one of driving it off the lot but the dealership didnt want to do their job here about 3 months ago we were in the process of moving and my fiancee had the car floored I thought for sure my family was going to lose their lives because the car didnt have the power to speed up its not the first time and my family lives comes first weve tried getting it resolved and even tried to use it as a trade it at another dealership and they refuse to even touch it the car had already 43000 miles on it when we drove it off the lot and 5 days after having it the shifter cable popped off and since then its been problems after problems and theres so much more wrong with it and since June its been sitting I refuse to have my family hurt do to a malfunctioning car my fiancee jamie wagner's name is also on the paperwork from dealership amongst weve contacted attorney general Dodge Chrysler mopar and deal with reinkes and findlay Dodge for things one this car.

To add to a long list of issues with this vehicle we now have a very serious one that Chrysler does not cover in the powertrain warranty. On thanksgiving when getting ready to leave a store my wife put the vehicle into what she thought was 1st only to begin going into reverse. Thankfully there was nothing behind at the time. We discovered that you can put the vehicle into reverse at any speed or anytime without the use of the shift release. Upon taking the vehicle to the dealer they stated that the shifter needs replaced as the cable broke free. They also discover that the reverse shift sensor had gone bad as well which may have been causing the traction control light to come on and the cruise control to stop working. This is but another issue that there where no warning lights, bells or whistles yet everything is ok because the computer say's it is. This vehicle is a death trap, they will not fix even though it is a known issue since 2012 when they first release the vehicle. Apparently someone needs to die for it to be a serious enough issue. . Chrysler needs to be made to step up and take responsibility for their shoddy products. Our heater core is leaking, turbo intermittent, engine surges (rpm's) etc.
