My 2013 sxt 2. 0 started to have the right front tpms sensor stop working a few weeks back after driving the car for about 30 minutes. I assumed the issue was with the sensor itself as the car is 9 years old now and thought the sensor battery may be getting weak. Had the sensor replaced and others checked, and we were back to normal for a few weeks. Then the right front again dropped out after driving for 30-40 minutes. Checked the sensor again, and it is putting out the signal ok per the tire store, so we went on our way. So here is what is happening now. The car acts like it resets itself overnight and all the sensors behave in a normal fashion after first starting a drive. But they start to drop out beginning with right front consistently after about 30-40 minutes of driving. Then sometimes the left front goes out soon after followed by the left rear. The other thing I have noticed is the range on the fob for locking / unlocking gets really short during this same time of driving the car for a while. Fob batteries are all new. Car sits overnight for a day and things seem to be normal first thing again. Have been told this is a real common issue of late with the Darts and the rfhm (radio frequency hub module) is typically the culprit. This hub failure can also lead to other electronic issues such as dash lights / wipers / door locks / etc failing or working intermittently. Apparently to replace this module, it is expensive and can involve new keys as well.

The car is over heating and the ecm (brain) is messed up. I have only made the 2nd payment on the car and only got to drive it about a week and the tire sensor stays on.

1)headlights. I have had issues with my headlights since day one. They are so dull I upgraded the bulbs with the brightest led bulbs available which did not help my legs did not get any brighter, I've had my headlights adjusted four different times which still did not help. I drive with my brights on anytime I have to drive at night and I still can hardly see anything on the road. It is not my eyes that are bad because multiple people have said the same thing and no one can tell me why my lights are so dime. This year alone I have replaced both my headlamp bulbs and turn signal bulb (left side) a total of 4 times because they have busted. I have ran into 3 ditches because I can't see anything. Now, I do not drive at night and have lost work as a result. 2)wheels. I have lost 4 front wheel tires while driving down the interstate in the last 2 years. I've purchased 8 tires during this time &have replaced all the broken lugnuts ea time. The lugnuts all snapped completely in 1/2 when my tires came off. I've been towed ea time and have endangered the life of others as well as my own & now I do not drive long distances & try to avoid going over 45 miles/hrs in fear of this happening again. As a result of loosing my tires while driving on interstate, I've replace right hub assembly 2 times &eft one time in last 2 years. On the electrical, tire, wheels, head lights & bulb replacements and repairs I have spent thousands . I was excited about getting my 1st Dodge, but the dangerous, expensive, and horrible experience from my Dodge has not only limited my driving to daytime hours on roads no more than 45 mph,, it's put fear in me to drive &purchase another! every person that has worked on my car, been a passanger & that knows about my car us in utter disbelief as I am. I do not want to sell this vehicle to anyone else, in fear the purchaser could get hurt or hurt someone else! every blog I've read and reviews for Dodge Dart have same issues & no re- placement parts available.
From control arms are welded down and some sort of screw goes through transmission. Mechanics are unable to remove and replace the front control arms because of that. If I cannot get the front control arms replaced, I cannot get an wheel alignment.
While on the side of the highway trying to change a flat tire. I found that the lugnuts have swollen and my lug wrench would not fit on the lugs. A service truck responded and said he see's this all the time. He went to the next size up in order to get the lug nuts off and said buy new ones with out the aluminum covers over the nut.

Wheel lugs swell and become impossible to remove from the wheel hub, making it difficult to change a flat tire, a potentially dangerous problem on busy streets. Vehicle needed to be towed, with expensive repairs, simply to change a tire. An internet search confirmed this is a problem for many Dodge Dart owners.
Anti-lock brake system service light comes on and off as well as the traction control light. The antilock brake system is not working at all and skid control doesn't work either. Brakes are hard to push often and vehicle is more and more reluctant to stop. The vehicle is always in motion. Stearing is harder when the vehicle slows or stops also. The issue began at the same time as the antilock brake issue. Check engine light also came on. All lights where cleared at my last service but came back on immediately from leaving the dealership I serviced it at. I have kids I transport in this vehicle and failing brakes under 90000 miles is a big deal. Approximate mileage is 83000.
Bought a used vehicle for my daughter. Dealership put new tires on the vehicle. Owed it less than 10 days and there's a bulge on sidewall of kuhmo solus 225/40r18. Noticed when filling gas into vehicle. Attempting to contact tire company regarding recalls. No potholes have been hit. Only 681 miles on tires.
My car cut off twice this morning, and almost didn't crank back up. Then my check engine light came on, so I took it by oreilly to get the engine tested. It showed that my throttle actuator control was bad. Prior to this it seemed like sometimes when I tried to change gears that it was sticking or something. It was almost as if it was switching gears properly. To top it off, I've had to replace all of my tires once, and a couple of them twice. Now today it appears I'll have to replace the back two a third time. This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I've been wondering if they just didn't let me know that the tires they were putting on were bad tires, possibly recall tires. I'm wondering because I've replaced tires way too many times, and one of the last times I went they told me they no longer had the type of tires that were on my car, because they decided to stop buying that brand. When I asked why, he fumbled around that and told me the place they (dealership) got them from (pep boys) no longer used those complaints.
Suspension is too easily adjusted. The littlest bump will throw out alignment and have the receipts to prove. Wheels bend easily, specifically 18 inch rims. Engine used too much oil and leaves your car to shut off automatically which is added as the issue is know to happen. I am 2,500 miles away from an oil change and I need to add oil because the car uses so much. The issue is know by Dodge and online thousands of people know about it.
Upon driving the car on the freeway yesterday, the 2016 Dodge Dart started to shake and the car would not slow down. The passenger front wheel control arm, tire, and cv joint completely feel off the vehicle which caused an accident.
Car will idle roughly while in drive and break is applie, if in neutral idle isn't rough. J have changed the spark plugs, gotten a tune up, changed the air filter and nothing has helped. Occasionally back passenger wont go up,radio screen will occasionally turn off while driving and radio often filled with static.
Need to replace all 20 lug nuts they are all swollen and have to bang them off because tools don't fit because it's either to big or too small. Never had this happen to any of my car ever. Swollen lug nuts are from the way these look nuts are manufacturer from the dealer they get moisture in them making them swell. If they know they swell why make the lug nuts with that cap coating that eventually causes it? they are $12 a piece. . I need 20. $240 for defective lug nuts that I'm going to have to keep buying is draft. . Can't buy those fancy pretty lug nuts like other cars. . Someone if you have the swollen lug nut issue report it please. Hopefully they'll submit a recall and stop making those lug nuts.
Takata recall this car is garbage ! Dodge shouldn't make this model anymore. I've been having problems two years in of having this car. I had to start changing tires so many time. Air always goes down, tires keep getting those air balls. (no I don't park close to the sidewalk or hit the sidewalk) my steering wheel always cracks everytime I turn it. My whole car shakes ! I press the brakes and it goes crazy. My engine messed up too (it had water inside) I had to fix some heating hose ! my window button stuggles to go up ?I had to change my battery three time ! keep in mind I got this car new. Zero everything ! for 6 years ! I've put so much money on a car I haven't even finished paying ! a car needs thing to get fixed but not like this! just isn't normal. Garage of a car! Dodge Dart sxt 2013 ! don't waste your money or time on this car. Save yourself.
For years my cars traction light will randomly come on and sometimes my gear would stick, every time the dealership would say they could not find anything and the light would turn off. Now my car keeps slipping into neutral well I'm on the freeway going abouy 75/80 mpg. Now it's doing it constantly. This has been going on since I bought the vehicle brand new in 2014.
Car stalled in the middle of a public street several times and wouldn't start at times before it finally just left me stranded. During these times there was no error on the screen letting me know what the problem was so I just kept trying to drive it. Then after awhile the check engine light turned on a few times but it was at random times and did not stay on. The car only has 18000 miles and I've only had it for 2 years. The dealer replaced the battery but did not check to see what was causing the battery to die so quick. They just told me that I don't drive it enough and that I stop and start it too much because I work too close to home. . . (this is not my first car and that's never happened before). This was not the first time I had this car serviced. The entire first year I kept getting an error that the tire pressure was too low and I was told that it was just an issue with the computer system but I had to replace the tires right away on a brand new car. So it's also had issues with the tires/wheels on a brand new car. People buy new cars to avoid these problems!.

Takata recall while diving at approximately 30 mph I was taking a left turn into my neighborhood when the vehicle began to accelerate on its own causing me to strike my drivers side front wheel on the curb disabling my vehicle. The motor still continued to rev at a high rpm for 10-15 seconds after impact without the accelerator being touched.
At 51000 miles the battery wouldn't stay charged needed an alignment at 2k miles per the dealer not covered under warranty at 46000 miles the ac compressor blew and discharged all the coolant the car was shaking right after the ac repair and smelled like rotten eggs dealer blamed it on a spark plug.
The front drivers side tire out of the blue began to form a huge bubble then it exploded after I made it home. The tire brand name is kumho solis.
Loud humming from the front wheel while making a long turn on the highway to the right. Brought it into the dealer of purchase, they found out it was the rear wheel bearing, a day later I'm still experiencing the same issues with improved sound reduction from the rear, so the rear was fixed now I'm having the front wheel bearing replaced.
I had my 2013 Dodge Dart for 3 years and for a year and a half I've had problems with tires to the point where they popped while driving, brand new tires, used tires it didn't matter. I spent so much money on just tires. To top it off I can't get the check engine light off because of the bcm and a leak somewhere. I went through all the procedure I brought a new gas cap, I brought a new sensor, I checked the wires no holes and nothing has worked. I still have two codes on my vehicle still after spending a lot of money to get it off.
My 2013 Dodge Dart has been going through issues for a year. My tires have been popping left and right brand new and used tires just popping while I'm driving with my kids in the car. The car now has a bcm problem as well as a small gas leak. I have went through multiple dealership that looked over the car and can't determine where the gas leak is coming from in which my check engine is still one which leave me to not be able to get the vehicle inspected or registered again. This car has caused me and my family so much money and issues. It hardly wants to drive, my key gets stuck in the ignition for some reason and I can't turn the car off. The Dodge and recall place told me they can not help me because my VIN is not recalled but I've been having the same issues as every other 2013 Dodge Dart.
P225/45r17kumho tires had buges in 2 out of the 4 original tires at 2000 miles. Causing a hole in one of the sidewalls at 25000 miles.
My car keeps cutting off while I'm driving. The batter light comes on without any warning. After the batter light comes on the only thing I can do is steer, the car starts to slow down, I can't excel at all, raido and all lights cut off as well. Once the car comes to a complete stop, I'll start it back up sometimes it'll start right back up, or I'll have to hold the key down a few seconds for it to start. The car have stopped on me while driving move than 5 times. I took it to the dealership where I purchased the car and the first few time they said after they ran all of the test they couldn't get the vehicle to duplicate the problem. Another time they asked could they keep the vehicle over night and have a mechanic drive the car home and back to work. The next day when I went to go pick up my vehicle they said they kinda-sorta got the car to duplicate the problem those were there exact words. Then they put a monitor in my car they told me to press the button while I was driving if the car was to go out so they can record the problem. The monitor was in my car for about a month and my car didn't duplicate the problem. A few weeks after they took the monitor out my car cut off on me again and took it back to the shop and they ran the same test and they couldn't figure out what's wrong with it. Another time my car went off I toom it back to the shop and it just so happened that my car was halfway empty on oil and they're telling me that my car is cutting off because it needs oil and they were going to monitor the oil. So they sent me back on the road and told me to come back when my car got to a certain amount of miles they had wrote down , when my car got to that amount of miles that they have wrote down I took my car back to the dealership and I told him to tell me if I needed an oil change and they told me I didnt. The car cut off when I was on the highway and on th.
The "parking light out" warning keeps coming on. I took the vehicle to the dealership three different times and each time was told it was fixed. The "fix" lasted for about a week and then the warning message would return. The warning showed up again today after about a month of being off. Also, all the tires have extreme pressure loss. It will go from 42 psi down to 10 psi over night with out any noticeable damage. After inspection there was no apparent holes or damages to any part of the tire. The dealership has replaces the tires multiple times and the problem continues. Partial pressure loss, between 4 and 10 psi occurs during normal driving range. However, a significant loss, between 20 to 30+ psi, is well the vehicle is in parked state over a period of rest usually around 6 to 8 hours. Multiple of events noted between Apr 2015 and Nov 2016.
I recently noticed that both front tires from my Dodge Dart 2015 have a huge bulge, I took it to the dealer and said that we have to contact the manufacturer of the tire which I will do after I post this complain. People at the dealer and at sears (days after I went for a nail in one tire from behind) said the same to contact manufacturer and that it should have warranty. It is weird since I never ever over inflated the tires, they are always at the recommended air pressure and never hit some huge pot hole or something like it.
Takata recall this 2014 Dodge Dart aero has now had multiple problems with the clutch and axles. It is currently in the shop to have the slave cylinder for the clutch as well as the axles fixed for the second time in 2 years. They are also in the process of checking in to why the check engine light came on for the mass air flow sensor. This makes 2 times that it has gone to the shop for clutch and axle issues. They also don't know what the real problem is for the check engine light. I have asked them to buy the car back and they wont. They also stated that I may be having to pay some out of pocket to get my car fixed this time. This car is nothing but problems. Like I mentioned before; twice for the clutch and axles, the engine light is on for a reason they don't know other that they think it is the mass air flow sensor, the third time I took it to Dodge for an oil change they told me that no oil came out of the engine and then tried to explain to me that my engine was "known" to do that. Now I have just gotten off the phone with the manufacturer customer service and they replied with they will cover all the costs except for $100. Seems kind of odd to settle on that amount. Plus they wont buy it back. Therefore, this car is known to have clutch and engine problems and Dodge expects me to drive around not having to worry about if my life is at risk. I should also mention that the tires that came on the car were faulty as well as I had to replace two of them already. The bands on the inside of the tire came loose and caused problems with the driving as well. This is junker car that I purchased new and Dodge could care less that it is falling apart.
Brake lines popped leaking fluid on ground and the tire pressure sensor has been on for a long time and I keep getting told that I just need to drive it.
I have had 2 tires with sidewall blowouts of the kuhmo solus kh 25/ 205/55/r16 tires that came on my (new from the dealership) 2014 Dodge Dart. The first at unknown miles. Was as I was accelerating from a stop sign. the second at 30,286 miles. the second blowout was after the car was parked for a significant amount of time, sounded like a shotgun blast and blew a hole in the skirting on my house. Other tires from the solus kh25 series have been recalled with the same sidewall problem.
Driving home from my parents house maybe a mile away from home air pressure gauge light illuminated we live less than a mile away from local gas station that has air pump. We drove my wife and three kids to the gas station to get air in the deflated tired as soon as the light illuminated. As we approached the gas station literally 150 ft away, the car starts to shake and rumble on the drivers side left tire. Just had the car at the dealer last Saturday with no mention of issues with the tires. Upon inspection the sidewall of the kumho kh25 tires was cracking. Upon further inspection you can see noticeable wear on the side walls of the other tires. Car started to rumble for another 20-30 feet before we were able to pull over to the side of the road and evaluate. This is pretty unacceptable to me kuhmo tires have apparently had a pretty bad reputation here in the us why are manufactures still using this company?!?! this is a daily driver I am on the same roads constantly the only variant is one set of tracks that I travel over once a week. . . There is no way this was caused from normal wear and tear on a car that has 9k miles on it.
The Darts breaks started to flutter and then feel warped. Upon remove the rotors were imperfect based on poor quality molding/casting. The backside of the rotors have gouges where they have rusted but the break pads have never touched and in some areas the casting looks like it pooled and cooled different then the rest of the rotors. . . Very cruddy and nasty across the rotors. The car started the issue when it only had 10k on it and it now has 17. 5k and is getting worst.
I have had issues since the day I bought the car. I have 26,000 miles and am on my third set of tires. The dealer tells me that they do not feel anything is wrong yet the tires keep wearing out and one recently had a bulge, I complained of a whirling sound and they told me it was the tires, I replaced the tires and it is still there. I keep taking the car in and it is one excuse after another. I report the issues to Dodge and they tell me to go to the dealer. A mechanic at the dealer told me that the car runs like a tractor trailer, it is idling at 2,000 rpm in park when it should be 900 or less and it sounds like there is an issue in the rear end and engine mount issues. I'm afraid the car will fall apart while I'm driving it. I need someone to help me get Dodge to figure out what the issues are. They had the audacity to tell me my driving habits are the reason I need tires every 10,000 miles. I have a camaro that I drive like a bat out of hell and got my first set of tires at 50,000 miles. Something is wrong with this car and no one at Dodge will help. Will it take me getting killed for someone to do something??.
2015 Dodge Dart refused PA. State inspection due to faulty yokohama s34 225/4018 tire (bulge on sidewall). Car is new with 2,100 miles and came with said tires on it. Informed tires have weak sidewalls, but still defect had to be listed as road hazard, no marks or damage to wheel or tire and wasn't broken down for examination. We have to pay $200. 00 for new tire. Contacted yokohama was told what ever dealer says is law, they do not confirm defects, nor do they care about doing such.
Car has kuhmo tires from the factory. This vehicle cannot go over any type of bump without an impact break forming on the tire.
Driver's side rear wheel bearing shot after 39,000 miles. Loud humming noise when driving on the highway at first. I drove on it for a couple weeks and the noise got louder. I jacked the car up one day and the wheel wiggled a pretty significant amount. Replaced both rear bearings in my driveway after calling the dealership and having them tell me the parts were not going to be covered under warranty.
