I own a 1999 Dodge Durango. I was on my way to work getting on to interstate 75, as I started to accelerate I heard a loud sound from the front right side of my vehicle, at the same time the vehicle was very hard to drive. I pulled over to see what the problem was, when I reached the front of the SUV my front right tire was barely dangling from the SUV. I had to call aaa to have it flat bedded to a garage. I was lucky that I was only going about 40 mph and not reached the posted speed of 70 mph.
I exited a highway on an off ramp. My speed had dropped to 50mph when I heard the rear tire begin to flop and saw it begin to smoke heavily. Upon examining the tire I found that the tread had seperated from the belts for approx. Half of the circumference of the tire. It was a clean seperation with no rubber left on the belts of the tire where the seperation had occured. We had been driving for approx. 40 minutes at 65mph before the incident occured. When driving 65 mph the left rear goodyear tires model 31-1050r15 blewout, causing poor steering control. Consumer has contacted the dealer. Owner contacted goodyear, they refused to pay for replacements, so owner had to pay for them. . Et.
All four tires have started to crack where the tread and side wall meet. The reason given by the company for not replacing the defective tire was all four tires have several cuts in the side wall in addition to the tires being dry rotted where the treads meet with the side wall. Tires have been amoral 2 in 15 thousand miles. Consumer states the claim was denied without seeing the tires. Tire size 255/75/15.
