The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. While driving 55 mph, the contact attempted raise the front driver side window, but it jammed and fell back into the door. The window would not function afterwards. The same failure occurred on the front passenger side window and two rear windows. The manufacturer stated that this was a common failure. They further stated that the regulator needed to be replaced at the contact's expense. The contact placed screwdrivers in the windows to hold them up, and the vehicle has not been repaired. 2 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2004

Consumer stated the window motor on the passenger side has gone out. The window will not go up or down. She stated she could hear the motor making a noise, but nothing happened. This started last week some time. She took the vehicle to the dealer for this problem and was told that they have been having a lot of problems with the window motors on these vehicles.

3 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2004

For the (3) third time since we purchased this vehicle in 05/2002, the window regulator has failed. The window regulator is a big part that fits inside the door and makes the window go up and down. This is the third occasion when it has broken causing the window to slide down into the door. It costs approx. $250-$300 to get this repaired every time. We are not doing anything extraordinary to warrant this kind of defect in this part. Please investigate this problem ASAP!!!.

4 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2004

Window regulator, plastic piece that allows the window to move up and down, has broken twice within the last year.

5 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2003

About 35,000 miles I had the adjusters repaired on the passenger front of vehicle. Around 60,000 miles the adjusters failed and the seat will jerk forward about an inch while doing any acceleration, then slide back about an inch. Somewhere around 70,000 miles the front drivers seat started rocking back and forth, like it was not bolted to the floor boards properly. I have power seats. I took my Durango in to have it looked at, at the dealership. I was told that they have seen a couple of vehicles with this same problem recently, and I was lucky mine would only cost 1,300 dollars to repair. Other bigger vehicles cost more. Is there a recall on this problem, and why is it happening so often in my vehicle, when it should not happen at all. Why so much money? why is a safety factor not part of warranty. I have always had power seats, this is the first time they ever failed. Not once, but twice.

6 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2003

Windows cables keep breaking in Dodge, 2001 Durango. Have been with Dodge, and the warranty covered the first incident. The cable broke again, and the warranty expired. Dodge will not pay to have the windows fixed. No prior warning to cable breakage.
