You have to backup and hit the brakes hard, sometimes several times, before it "pops" and releases. The "pop is a sure sign that the design is flawed, causing the shoes to not reseat properly when the brakes are applied and you come to a full stop. Please don't try to say you know nothing about it, when it is googled by thousands of people and know one knows what else to do. Even a fool would know there is a design flaw. Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while in park and attempting to turn the vehicle off, a noise emitted from the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the abs motor remained on. The contact unplugged the harnesses that was connected to the module in order to shut the motor off. In addition, the contact stated that while in park, the abs and break warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,470.
When the consumer attempted to apply the brakes the pedal went to the floor and the vehicle experienced extended stopping distance.
