Seat belt is locked but light comes on as if it was not on. I have to undo, and reapply for light to go off. Radio will not work at times. Radio repair guy said I needed a new amplifier. One day it just starts playing, but when I stopped to get gas, the car would not start. After battery was replaced, the cargo lamp stays on if I open my rear hatch. Will only go off if I closed it twice.
My mothers 2005 Durango flipped 7 times in champaign CO. Ohio. It killed her. The Durango folded in like a pop can. And her seat belts failed. She always wore them. However the report said she did not have them on. I know she did the mark across her body at the corners showed it was on! and not 1 air bag deployed not 1. She lost controll of the vehicle and it began flipping 7 times. Hate Durangos there not safe and it is the reason my mom didnt stand a chance at living threw the accident. Most likly caused by Durango junk. U people should stop lying to people you wouldnt let your family drive one!!!! so why sell this garbage. How dare you. Deidra marie davidson age 51 from champaign CO. Ohio was my mother. She is now dead. :( and nothing is the same and it never will be. :( thanks a lot :(.
The mechanism on the seatbelts that locks the seatbelt during a sudden stop or crash is made of plastic. They break easily especially after a few years of use. There are 7 seat belts in my 2005 Dodge Durango. Three of them broken in this fashion. I contacted Dodge who refused to assist me in having the vehicle repaired.
The seatbelt buckles in the 2nd row seats have broken. The plastic part on the buckles that makes the belt stay tight for a car seat has cracked on one and totally broken off on the other. I do not feel safe putting my child in the seat due to the belt not tightening. The dealer assured me that the belt is still safe for a child that is not in a carseat, but I do not feel it is safe. I have not gotten it fixed yet due to funds being available we just use the other seats. Please investigate this. They should recall vehicles that do not have safety belts that hold up to daily use.
The contact owns 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the rear and front passenger side seat belt would not release. As of April 7, 2008, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 69,000. The VIN and engine size were unavailable.
Bought car in 2007 had to replace one key because of electronics at 180 dollars each, 2009 changed car battery had to reset keys at 80 dollars, 2011 keys need replaced again at 130 dollars each. Bad design so they can keep fleasing you for money. Also had fuel tank replaced, brake lines rubbed together causing hole in line and loss of brakes, dust cover on drivers seat belt broke off, screws in back tail gate keep loosening and falling out.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. He stated that the dust cover for the seat belt popped off which caused dust to gather between the seat belts. He felt that over time dust would accumulate and prevent the seat belts from operating correctly. The dealer was unable to provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.
