1 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

My alternator was overcharging my battery, replaced both. Still having an overcharging "sweating battery" issue. The vehicle has suddenly died at low speed, but was able to start. The check engine light comes on and goes off, sometimes it is off for weeks, other times for a day, the code it sets is always different, even for components that have been replaced. Tells me I have a large leak , a small leak in the evap, egr is shorted to ground, ait is out of spec, etc. Now my transmission has shifted from fifth to third back to fifth to fourth, all while at low speed in cruise control. The speedometer, while in cruise control, will jump to 3000rpm, down to 1500, and between all at the same speed.

The crankshaft position sensor consistently going bad , due to faulty wiring harness or other issues. This will cause the vehicle to randomly shut off while either sitting or driving , and the its unknown as to why it is happening. Suggested repair is to just replace , but I replace 1 a year . I have replaced 6 in the last 5 years of owning this vehicle. Dealership is unable to locate the problem to why the cps keeps failing .

Failure Date: 05/10/2016

The Durango cuts off while driving. We have taken it to the dealership (or had it towed) 6 times in the past 7 months for the same problem. The issue is still not fixed. We lose the ability to steer or brake when the engine cuts off.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2014

Approximately 3 weeks ago, I had my Durango in the dealership for repairs. They put in a new cylinoid and electrical computer parts on the engine to the costly tune of $2903. On Sunday, December 14th, apparently the engine has now spun a bearing/thrown a rod. They tell me it is going to require a new engine and all of the new parts that were put in 3 weeks ago will come out with the defective engine. I'll have to pay for it all over again. Help please. This can't be happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
