1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2015

I was traveling on i99 southbound and all of a sudden my vehicle downshift from 4th gear to 3rd. I pulled over to investigate but couldn't find anything wrong. I turned the vehicle off waited about 5 minutes and turned my vehicle back on. I positioned the gear shift lever to drive (d) and started driving again. I noticed a lack of acceleration as though the transmission was stuck in a high gear. I had the transmission fluid drained, the filters replaced and had the transmission refilled with new transmission fluid. I check the transmission fluid level each week to see if I have a leak but no leaks were detected. This has been a continuing problem and the dealer quote me a figure over $2000. I am a disabled vietnam veteran and live on my disability right now. I cannot afford this expensive repair.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2014

The vehicle stalls/loses power while driving down the road, it gives no warning and once the vehicle loses power you lose control of steering and come to an abrupt stop. This leave the vehicle stranded wherever you are with little to no way to safely pull to the side of the road or highway. This is an ongoing issue with this vehicle, it has been into the dealership multiple times and they have continuously failed to find or solve the issue. It is extremely concerning that this vehicle is ultimately putting my family in grave danger as the times that the vehicle has broke down have been in the middle of busy intersections. The forums and web searches online appear to prove that this is a common issue with Dodge yet the manufacturer is unable to solve the issue or put out a recall in regards to the problem. This is not only endangering the lives of my family but potentially the lives of many other unsuspecting owners/families.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2013

I was driving on the expressway and my car began to stop and several indicator lights came on, engine, asb/bas, and tps. The car stopped and I had to move it into park and restart. This has happened several times in the past fw days. Usually while I am driving on a non hwy surface. I called and asked about a recall to this number 800-853-1403. I was then referred to the nearest dealer.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2012

The accelerator of our 2007 Durango at rest is about 1 inch lower than the brake. I have several times stepped on the brake to put it in gear and am also stepping on the accelerator, because it is too close to the same height. The brake is slightly higher. This causes quite a jerk when I start the car and put in gear quickly. We have a 2000 Durango. The separation height of the brake vs the accelerator is 2 3/4 inches. I've never experienced the same with it. I took the car to two dealers that said there is no adjustment to either the brake or the accelerator. Chrysler corp. Offers no solution. I'd expect that a recall for the brake arm (bent to give higher at rest) should be done. I am very afraid of this condition and fear that it will cause me to lurch ahead or back at some time when I forget to make sure I only have my foot on the brake. I have pictures of the position of the brake and accelerator and can get them to whomever may need them.
