Every time the fuel tank is filled to 3/4 or more there is always a back splash of about 2-3 cups of fuel. If engine has been running long could run down side of vehicle and ignite on hot exhaust pipes.
Gas tank spits fuel back out and over flows no detect automatically when close to full no warnings given , transfer case malfunction dropped out of gear while driving down the road and refused to go back into any gear.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Durango. While refueling the vehicle, fuel spilled out of the filler hole when removing the nozzle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank would needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Dodge Durango 2008 with hemi 5. 7 l engine stalls at low speeds after I fill up the gas tank. This happens every time I fill up the tank now. I have read on consumer forums that other Dodge trucks and car owners have also reported this problem. It is dangerous, as the car stalls without any warning. This happens multiple times after fillup and after driving 20 miles or so the problem goes away. It is very dangerous as my car has stalled in busy intersections and while taking yield turns. The vehicle has also stalled while driving on highway after gas fillup and as I tried to slow down. When I reported to the dealer, they said it is not covered under warranty.
Every time I fuel the vehicle up (at multiple gas stations) the pump does not shut off a when the tank is full, causing fuel spit back and overflow. This causes a fire danger and a hazmat situation.
I've noticed since I bought my truck, when I have it on autofill at the gas station, there's no indication for when the gas is full. . . It come spewing out all over me and down the side lf the car! I thought it may have been the pump, but it happens every single time I fill my tank all the way full. Now from the gas over flowing so many times, I have very bad rust around where you fill up the gas. It's rusting a hole straight threw!! as I read and do research, I see many others have this complaint as well and still there is no recall !!.
I went to a gas station to fill up on fuel and when the attendant heard it click off and tried to remove the gas hose the gas tank spit fuel back out and down the side of my vehicle. This is the second time it has done this and only the second time I have done a full fill-up since I bought it in August.
Fuel spits out of fill tube every time we fill up! it has happened at several different stations in different states. This is very unsafe! each time the gas is pumped, the nozzle clicks off to turn off the pump. 1 second later you hear a gurgling noise and gas spouts out of the fuel tube. It soaks the side of the car and your clothes and shoes are drenched in gasoline!! from my online research, this problem has been happening with several years of Durangos and jeeps. There are no recalls for 2008 Durangos! how can this be? it seems to be the same recall from 2005 but hardly anyone is having success getting the dealers to replace the tanks. What are we waiting for? someone to burn to death?.
