The transmission puts itself into 4wd sometimes with an instrument panel light, sometimes without. It does this both when stopped and at highway speeds. I've seen hundreds of the same complaint when I searched this online. It's a 2008 model but it's a relatively new car for me so, that is why I'm just mentioning it now. In the few months I've owned the vehicle, this has happened no fewer than 10 times. On two separate occasions it happened while I was driving. I did not crash on either of those occasioins but, it was very close both times. The second time, after lurching very hard across two lanes, it then kicked into neutral and I was unable to accelerate or even continue down the road to a safe spot to stop. Instead, I was stuck in an active lane to wait on a tow truck. Luckily, I was not hit. I was just stranded. If this was just me, I wouldn't complain here. But, as I said, I searched online and found hundreds of complaints of the same matter dating back the past decade or so. I live in dubai, uae. My phone number is 00971568531955. The number in the information below is a very old home phone number from when I lived in the us. The attached form wouldn't take my actual address or phone number.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Durango. While the vehicle was parked, the vehicle reversed independently without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,250.
