Rear backup lamp light bar assembly is leaking water. Water visibly observed in light bar and causing led's to fade. Had it resealed by dealership continued to leak and now light bar has completely failed and no longer turns on, this is a major safety concern as well due to license plate light no longer functioning as well. Vehicle is scheduled to go in for repairs regarding a failed light bar and safety issue.
I pulled into the driveway, placed the car in park, left the vehicle running, and went into the house. I was inside the house less than 10 minutes when a neighbor knocked on the door stating a vehicle crashed into her house. We immediately turned the vehicle off to prevent any other damage to the house. We contacted the police dept for a report. Once the report was completed by police, a tow truck was contacted to remove the vehicle. When the vehicle was turned on to engage the transmission, the officers found the transmission was in the parked status. We believe the vehicle rolled into the neighboring house even though the car was in park. Dodge has been contacted and an investigation has been requested to validate the mechanical integrity of the vehicle.
Heat is blowing hot on drivers side and cold on passenger side.
As I was driving to my son's football game, my headrest deployed and violently hit me in the back of the head. I hadn't hit anything or a pothole. I lost control of the car momentarily, but thankfully was not around other vehicles and was only going about 30 mph. It sounded like my airbag had deployed, but after looking around to find what happened, I noticed my passenger side headrest was out and so I felt behind my head and sure enough it had deployed as well. I ended up going to the er because of a head injury as I was disoriented and dizzy and had light sensitivity. I have been diagnosed with whiplash and have had headaches everyday since the accident. I am also seeing a chiropractor because my back is all messed up as well.
Once I reached my destination I proceeded to back into my designated parking spot, my vehicle engine remained running, but the car would not move. I put the gear into drive, it would not move, I put it into to park, then back to reverse and it still would not go back or forward. I turn the engine off and on several times before shifting it back into gear, still none of these things prevailed. After about 10 mins of the above actions, I was able to reverse the car into position. I have not tried to move it since.
I have 2 active recalls on this vehicle, they are t59, brake booster water shield may have been incorrectly installed, and p67, occupant restraint control (orc) module may develop an internal fault. I have 1 active campaign on this vehicle, it is u06, autopark functionality. I just purchased this vehicle on June 23rd, 2018 at performance Dodge la vista, nebraska. I was informed by the performance Dodge la vista, nebraska service department that the recalls were performed, and not reported, due to lack of personnel in the recalls reporting department. Meanwhile, I drive a new/used vehicle, wondering if the dealership actually addressed the open recalls, and campaign on my vehicle, with my safety at risk. This is highly unacceptable, it is now September 16th, 2018, and the recalls, and campaign are still outstanding on my vehicle. I am looking to you for assistance in this matter. I am also worried if the work was not actually completed, and just reported as complete by the dealership, the thought of this is frightening, again, since my safety, and that of my family, is at risk when operating this vehicle. Thank you for listening, and I hope to hear from you regarding a resolution to this matter soon. Good day, timothy mace 7006 la vista drive la vista, ne 68128 tmace2017@gmail. Com 531-444-7326.
Drivers side head restraint functioned /deployed for no reason, causing a blow to the back of the head, hurting and disorienting the driver while the vehicle was in motion,.
The touch screen works part of the time and other times not. Also air works sometimes and not other times, sometimes half the car is cold while at the same temp the other half of the car is hot air from the vent. Also the seat set up does not keep settings.
Rear racetrack lighting fills with water. Could short out causing fire or no lights. Have had replaced in 2017. Now water leaking again. Common issue when searched for. Called dealers said Dodge warranty has not been covering issue now. Have max care coverage.
While started and parked and sitting in driver seat, tried to put down middle row headrests via the computer dashboard. It did not work, and then driver side headrest popped out. Shop claims it's cosmetic and not electrical. Headrest latch is broken and needs to be replaces $802 parts and labor. I believe it's 1) electrical & 2)(second place on complaint) poor headrest construction. Approx date of incident listed.
Vehicle was shifted into park, but running, in my driveway. Got out to let passengers out. Turned around to get back in and car started driving itself forward, almost hitting my child. Managed to jump in and stop it after it hit my husband's car with the open driver door. The shifter knob has moved itself into the drive position and actually shifted gears without the brake being pressed.
Vehicle rolled backwards after being placed in park, with ignition off, on small sloped driveway multiple times.
Electronic shifter/ placed in park while engine was on / was in the driveway of our home and shifted into drive automatically moved forward and caused damage to vehicle and garage. ( was reported to the insurance company/ adjuster has completed the damage to both vehicle and home).
After starting the vehicle in my garage, I needed to go back into the house to get something. I shifted the car to park to exit the vehicle, the vehicle was still running. When I exited the vehicle the car proceeded to roll backwards out of the garage. The garage is on level ground. I attempted to get back into the car to press the brake. I was unsuccessful, and was dragged out of the garage. After being dragged through the garage I ended up partially under the car, I let go of the car and rolled away not to be ran over by the still moving car. I then got up and ran after the car that was going down my decline driveway. When I got into the moving car I applied the brake and shifted the car from "drive" to "park". There was significant damage done to the drivers side of the car. The garage door/frame was damaged as well. I had injuries that required an ambulance.
This actually happened about 4 months ago. I was at the post office dropping off mail outside in the mailbox in my car. I dropped a piece of mail on the ground. I put my car in park and got out of my car. My car began to roll forward, I was able to get in and place my foot on the brake. My door hit the mailbox. Later I went to the dealer to get a quote to fix my door and told them what happened. They said I must have never put it in park. They wanted $1000 to fix a little scratch and dent on the door. I decide not to fix it. Today I noticed the possible recall, thought I should mention this. I'm not looking for a response. Than you for your time.
Our Durango will just completely go haywire (display screen, lights - interior, dash, and exterior lights, the 3rd row head rests will automatically go down, doors lock/unlock) and shut down while in motion. All power goes out and the vehicle becomes impossible to regain control.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2016 I backed our newly purchased used 2014 Dodge Durango into our garage, turned it off and went into my house. The vehicle then started on its own so I went out and pressed the button to turn it off. When I returned inside my house, this occurred two more times (the vehicle started & I went out to the garage to turn it off). This is particularly troubling as the vehicle does not have remote start. I immediately contacted the dealer service representative and scheduled an appointment. I have been informed that while many software issues were updated and corrected, no definitive cause as to why the vehicle self started was found. Now I am afraid to park in my garage, because what if we failed hear this Durango self start & ended dead from carbon monoxide poisoning? have other similar complaints been reported and investigated? what is our recourse to fix this problem?.
Vehicle rolled out of park on boat launch, totally submerging vehicle for a total loss.
The car is making an annoying "whining noise/hum" when driving. As the speed increases so does the noise. I have had the 2014 Durango citadel (v6) 2 years and have approximately 16,000 miles on it. I started to notice the noise around 12,000 miles. The tires are inflated at the recommended tire pressure and have been recently rotated. This has had no effect on the level of noise. I spoke to another owner of the Dodge 2014 Durango citadel and he is having the same problem. He mentioned that on a recent service at the Dodge dealer they asked him if he was experiencing any noise in the drive train. I will be following up with my dealer tomorrow.
This has happened twice, the first time was a month or so ago but it happened again last week and the wound was much worse. The exposed edge of the left and right rear brake light are extremely sharp and exposed anytime the rear hatch is open/up. I thought about making a video showing how it could peal and apple or watermelon skin. My right arm has a short 3/4" scrap (1st) and now an almost 3" long scrap that is taking its time to heal. If your skin touches those edges and has any amount of force it will scrape the skin. This happens during unloading if a package shifts while unloading.
Rollaway accident. In 2015 I had an accident where my vehicle rolled out of my driveway. I was not in the vehicle. The vehicle was in park and emergency brake was placed on. I contacted fodge about the issue and they said that althiugh the parking brake lighy may have been on that if the brake was not depressed. Completely to the ground the brake was not engaged.
Vehicle on board control panel constantly malfunctions, with the screen going black after ignition. System will remain inaccessible for prolonged period of time and will increase air temp to 75 degrees, with no way to stop or change air output. On board/uconnect connectivity continuously lost with no phone/communication access available (I. E. , center light on rear view will be red most times). Have taken vehicle to multiple Dodge dealerships for repair, but repair shops claim to be unable to find a problem. Problem began after first system update.
Drove the car off the lot on Friday. On Monday on my way to the supermarket the truck lost power started shaking and a burning smell filled the cabin. Took it to the dealer. Service said it was a faulty battery and changed it. On Wednesday the same thing happened returned to the dealer. Truck was kept for two days. Service could not re-create the problem. The service manager said the system was reset and it should be fine.
Wife went to start up vehicle and it would not crank over. Called aaa for a jump. It crank and started with a rattle can sound. I came home to verify sound. It did such sound as she explained. I'm a mechanic and removed valve cover to check for rocker damage none found. I removed intake and found water in #7and #8 cylinder. I looked at seals on intake and found not installed properly. The seals were not square in bores of intake. I have not removed oil pan but I suspect connecting rods bent on start up. I need to know if Dodge new about this issue. I did do a coolant pressure test and it held fine with no leaks. Was there a recall on the intake which destroyed my wife's engine.
