At 37008 miles my coolant started to leak and it overheated, when taking to a mechanic they replaced the coolant and tubes and advised that it was rubbing on the hose, so they replaced the hoses and put in new coolant fluid and said it was all addressed, not even a week later, it started to overheat again even though it has all new hoses and they wrapped the hoses so it doesn't wear and cause the leak again and it still happened.
Brakes pump when used; vehicle stalls when shifting into higher gears.
First, very hard time trying to file a complaint with Dodge, they make it hard to find info. To make it short, I have a Dodge Durango rt, only 83,000 miles. The vehicle would not start, and was smoking out the back. Was hoping it was something simple brought it to my mechanic. Turns out there was an oil leak, manifold leak and the starter died. I had to tow my car. Called the Dodge company, and they flat out said they could not help me and would not do an escalation because I didn't bring it to a Dodge dealer but "who knew" I would have all these problems, thought it could be something simple and $2200 later. They were so rude, unhelpful and just horrible service. Keep repeating they would not help me or even have a conversation? the sad part is I really love this vehicle. There needs to be an investigation to see if other customers are having these problems because then it's a manufacturing issue. I know they are a huge company and I just a person to them. But I need to know if this is an ongoing problem??? this is not the normal failure on a vehicle, again maybe this was a factory engine problem while being built.
Took vehicle in for cooling issues, leaking coolant. Garage did courtesy inspection and determined oil cooler failure had caused catastrophic damage to the engine, requiring replacement. Mechanic informed me this particular shop deals with this issue 3-5 times every week, with about one per month requiring full engine replacement. The engine is the 3. 6l v6 pentastar, which is standard in Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Plymouth vehicles and this is a defect known to the manufacturer. My mechanic informed me that both Dodge and the current manufacturer of the engine had tried and failed to correct the problem, because it is an actual design flaw. Caused in part, by the oil cooler being constructed of plastic and mounted at the top of the engine, it is subject to heat and warping which causes the failure. . Mechanic said this is typical around 100k miles. My Durango has 108k, 6k out of the warranty I bought for $4,500 at the dealership, just shy of 3 years ago. This is a known defect. Why is there no recall or remedy for a consumer now facing a $17,000 engine replacement on a $30,000 used vehicle? Dodge knows this is a problem, what is a consumer’s recourse for trusting they make quality vehicles when this presents a major safety issues to anyone with the 3. 6l? my dealership never notified me of this issue, nor did the manufacturer. At least a heads up to change to an aftermarket metal oil cooler, to avoid catastrophic loss? this is wrong.
Oil cooler failure . I am concerned because my mechanic says this is a common problem with this type of motor. Why isn't it recall.
I was driving my vehicle and the engine light came on and the car started overheating. I had to immediately pull over. There was fluid underneath my vehicle again. This occurred twice in 6 months. The engine coolant lines have a whole in them. This is the 2nd repair for the same issue in 6 months. The vehicle has been sitting for over 3 weeks at Dodge. They have not answered or responded to our claims. The vehicle poses a safety risk as it instantly overheats and you lose power. The coolant lines under the vehicle are not secured at all and rub against other parts under the vehicle.
Twice this year this has happened. I was driving to work when suddenly the lights on the dash came on and the car started over heating. There was a ton of engine coolant under the car. Took the car to get repaired. They said the coolant lines rub against something under the car and caused a hole. They said it was a defect in the way the car is designed and there is nothing to hold up the coolant lines running to the rear of the vehicle. They told us we needed to contact Dodge and file a claim. We did and heard nothing back from them. Fast forward 6 months and it happens again. Car is currently at a Dodge dealership. Same issue. Filed another complaint and claim with them. Its been 3 weeks. 0 response. Car is still at the dealership.

At 30,000 had one blown head gasket and a few thousand miles later another blown head gasket. Regular maintenance and oil changes have been done and maintenance. Then last year my cam shalf had to be replaced and now again a head gasket again. Several cylinders are missing firing. I took my car into fairfield Dodge (fairfield texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell gas as if I stepped in it. The smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. The car dealership said OH we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, OH that is it. They said it is fixed " wrong. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me OH well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They do not know what is wrong with it. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a lemon law, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. Melissa. Hancock43@yahoo. Coolant leak, due to water pump failure , has 61000 miles there are other older models that already have extended warranties for same issues this should apply to newer models as this issue persists.
Upon making slow turn I experiance a rapid unintended acceleration. Engine raced to about 4000 rpm. In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22v426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. If this incident is related to the recall Dodge needs to find a fix ASAP. +.
Purchased my used 2019 Durango at the end of June 2022. Everything was fine, then after a month and a half the vehicle starts to act up. Had the "service electronic stability control" warning come on several times. "stop/start unavailable, service system" warning come on four or five times. Then, sitting at a stop light, the engine shut down and wouldn't turn on and a warning saying my "hood is open" popped up. Put vehicle in park. Tried again, same warning, third time was a charm it finally started. Took it to dealer, they say after a 'recall' fix is sent out, some of these problems (they say are related) will go away. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a vehicle that sits in my driveway while I drive one of my other vehicles. I can't drive a vehicle that may suddenly 'shut down' with my family in it. Vehicle only has 17, 900 miles on it too.
2019 didge Durango. Purchased used with c. 22k miles on the clock. Have driven c2. 5k miles and the following has happened 3 times. When accelerating the car seems to lose power momentarily and then gets stuck in third gear. Cannot shift up or down. After parking and restarting the engine the issue is resolved but the check engine light comes on. Goes off sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after 1 or 2 days.
My car completely shut off on me while taking a right turn into my driveway. It died at the end of my driveway. It turned back on after I put it in park and restarted the engine. Thankfully this did not happen on a busy road in town or on a highway. When I also turn my car on, my stereo sometimes work and sometimes doesn't . It does this a lot. Is any one having the same issues? my car has just a little over 11k miles and shouldn't be having this issue.
On 10/15/19 I was returning my vehicle to lustine Chrysler Jeep Dodge in woodbridge, va for engine knocking and transmission thumping when (I'm pretty sure I hit a bump on the highway) and the whole electronic dashboard flicker very fast and the vehicle accelerated on its own. I arrived at the dealership, they verified a malfunction code and sent me home to return another day because they didn't have any loaner vehicle to give me. I have loud engine knocking, thumping transmission and the ac blower didn't work October 1, 2019.
On may 7, 2021, I was informed by champion Dodge in indianapolis, indiana that a water intrusion point was discovered on my new Dodge Durango. The service department determined that the antenna had a faulty antenna gasket causing water to get into the vehicle through the antenna since I purchased it in September 2019. To date, my vehicle has been in the shop for about 70 days, always returned to me as "unable to duplicate" after the vehicle accelerating by itself, the led panel malfunctioning repeatedly, the highlights coming on by themselves, and the instrument panel going out multiple times and the backup camera not engaging just to name a few problems I've had. All this Dodge dealer did with this major discovery was to replace the antenna and return the vehicle to me as safe. I feel this situation is not safe as water has been getting into the electrical car components of my vehicle since 2019, and this cannot be a safe situation but doge refuses to buy back this vehicle as a lemon or even with this new information they still refuse. My Dodge has experienced electrical problems from day one of my purchase of this vehicle. I have had ongoing safety issues with this vehicle all to do with electrical problems. I think this is a very unsafe situation for this vehicle to be on the road.
My vehicle is a 2019 Dodge Durango that the engine light came on. I took it to the dealership and they say that there is a vacuum leak at the engine defined by the evap (evaporative emission system).
On 4. 17. 19 while I am driving the car with my family ( 3 people ) from lima linda to rancho cucamonga , we had total 3 x episodes of the engine off suddenly without giving warning at all. What really scare us the car stop at all sudden due to engine off when we are driving on freeway 10.
