2 Interior Lighting problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. While parked the contact noticed the interior lighting on the vehicle would not shut off. The interior lights were illuminated in the vehicle constantly while driving or parked. The contact stated the lights would turn off intermittently on their own after being illuminated for approximately three hours. The interior of the vehicle also had a burning smell. Interior lights, won't come on unless your press the individual light power on button, and then they stay on until the individual light switches are cycled again. Interior lights will not/not come on when doors are opened, or when attempting to power on via dimmer switch. Dodge mechanics can't even figure out this one.
