Orange car came on on dashboard after having the truck on cruise control and a car cut me off real close. The cruise control went off, the truck lost traction and it slipped while turning at a roundabout when it was raining.

Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of willoughby, ohio. I traded in my 2022 ram 1500 v8 hemi midnight edition, which was in mint condition with only 8,800 miles, because I needed a vehicle with more space after the birth of my child. I chose a Dodge Durango gt premium, effectively trading down, and I expected not to come out of pocket for anything. While I was willing to cover the taxes, I did not expect any further expenses—especially not for basic safety or cosmetic issues. Right after leaving the lot, I noticed that all four tires on the Durango were severely worn, and one had a deep cut, making it a legitimate safety hazard that could result in a blowout. I immediately returned and showed the salesman, who refused to replace the tire, even the damaged one, instead offering new tires at what they claimed was “dealer cost”—$271 per tire. However, I quickly found the exact same tires available from major retailers like walmart and amazon for $198–$226, proving that the dealership was not being transparent about their pricing. In addition to the tire issue, I also noticed numerous paint chips all over the front end of the Durango while I was still at the dealership. At first glance, I assumed they were just dead bugs. It wasn’t until I took a closer look that I realized the paint was chipped in many spots. Rather than offering to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, I had to ask for a paint chip marker myself. They never offered to repaint the area or do anything beyond handing me the pen. This is a vehicle I had just agreed to purchase, and this level of poor presentation and lack of attention to detail is unacceptable.

My rear wheel on the driver side of the vehicle would not allow me to go or roll like the other three tires so I had to come off the road and head to the nearest firestone complete auto care to try to get help for my vehichle, due to having a warranty on my tires until 2028. My safety and the safety of others was put at high risk, as I could not control the swaying movement of the vehicle and assumed I must have popped a tire or something was caught underneath my car and was preventing me from driving properly with womping and knocking sounds. After confirmation of the problem, by firestone I was informed that what occured should not have happened and is a manufacturer problem and was noted on the bill I had to pay a week later to drive my vehicle. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to it happening. My oil was changed and tires were rotated as part of regular maintenance at the Dodge dealership were I reside on or around September 2024 and they did not inform me of any issues. I work minutes from my home and only drive a few miles each day. About 2 years ago I purchased this vehicle at 62,000 and have only accumulated 16,000 miles and currently sit at 78,000. I am asking for this request to be reviewed, and the cost be reimbursed and my vehicle to be scheduled for inspection for consumer safety and peice of mind.

We own a 2021 Dodge durgano srt hellcat which we received from the dealership on [xxx]. It has only 17,083 miles on it and the 50,000 mile stock pirelli run flat tires are cording and coming apart at the interior of the tire. The vehicle has had recommended tire rotations every year at 5,000 to 6,000 mi. They have advised there is a major factory alignment issue causing the front tires to lean in at the top resulting in very abnormal wear to the interior of the tires. We have photo proof of our 2021 Durango with the alignment issue versus our 2018 Durango without it. We notified Dodge of this safety issue especially since they have three brand new Durangos for sale with this same issue. We were unaware of this issue until the tires started coming apart since this was a brand new car and factory alignment should not be set to destroy tires. We filed claim# [xxx] with Chrysler and they denied our claim to assist us with aligning the vehicle and replacing the tires and also showed refused to correct the issue for future customers purchasing their vehicles. We are currently in a battle with our local dealership hw hunter Dodge (lancaster, CA) to have the tires replaced and alignment issues corrected yet they are also refusing to help or be liable for the alignment problem on our vehicle and other vehicles they have sold or will be selling. This poses a serious safety hazard for anyone who has purchased a 2021 or newer Durango r/t, srt, and srt hellcat which all have this camber issue at the top of the both front tires. Eventually, someone will experience a massive tire failure with their family in the vehicle and will either be seriously hurt if not worse. A recall should be issued for this problem immediately and replacement of damaged tires but both Dodge and Chrysler will not take any liability nor help with even looking into the issue. In the photos attached our 2021 Durango is white, our 2018 Durango is red, and the black Durango is brand new for sale. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information.

The Durango hydroplaned and after I inspected the tires I noticed very bad wear patterns on the front tires at 17,500 miles both the inside treads on the front tires are completely worn off. I brought the car to the dealer and they confirmed the Durangos alignment is out causing the tires to wear. They inspected the back tires and those were worn as well I feel like there is some type of manufacture defect and assembly defect causing the tires to wear prematurely. The pireeli tires have a utqg: 500 a a rating that should wear to about 50k miles.
Tire pressure sensors are not working properly. Every time I use the vehicle, I'm not sure if I need to pull over and check the tire pressure. The numbers are off considerably. It will not stay to adjusted tire pressure. It will randomly put out numbers for each tire the dealer tried 3 times to fix the issue and followed a number of requested items to check from the manufacture without success. They opened a star case. The case manager said it was weather related. This can't be, they are not just 1-2 pounds off, there generating random numbers. The dealer does not agree with the assessment. They also raised the issue to the regional engineering department. This was unsuccessful. This has been occurring a few months after I bought the car. Note: the pictures enclosed were all morning readings and the vehicle is garaged.

The uconnect system in the 2020 Dodge Durango srt has been compromised. The vehicle has experienced major safety concerns and life threatening issues for the driver. All components from body telemetry to speed control breaking fuel consumption electrical the brain itself the gps the tracking equipment and software. Somebody a(hacker or Toyota) is remotely hacked and controlling the system just like the voluntarily recall of Jeep. However the uconnect system is a Toyota product or I was lead to believe. The uconnect system has failed. It has been hacked. The malware has affected every component of the the Dodge Durango. The vehicle needs to be recalled and bought back. Taken off the road. The defective software makes the vehicle a death trap and a malware networking hub. I fear for my life and the safety of my life because of this vehicle. This has been a daily occurrence since 06/14/2022, when I purchased the vehicle.
The back axel on the driver side snapped while going 75 down the highway. Causing major damage and totally the car.

Driving car on freeway when the computer locked up system of awd and sensors. The back tires would not turn and car started to jerk and slowed down. The dash board lighted up and all sensors said off off off . The mileage speedometer changed to kilometers and the mapping screen had the car going in a circle. The steering wheel was stiff and cars where passing me by. The car made a clunking sound when it first happened. I got scared trying to figure out what to do. I slowly got out of traffic and off the freeway to park the car. Had the tow person come and we hard time getting it to stay in neutral. I had to stay in the car so it would not shut off. When got it to dealers for repair the repair place said the computer must have reset itself and they could not find anything wrong?? I feel this is a big problem? this should be looked into as it could be life threating when driving along and the computer takes over like that and you have no control of the wheels. My tow person saw what it was doing also not just me. So I know it was happening. Something is wrong with that computer system where it just shuts down like that. It has done it before on a smaller area of just the high beam controls but this time it was the whole driving mechanizm. Please look into this problem. I would like to see a new computer or something done with my car so it is safer and more reliable. Sincerely, Jan milos.

69000 miles, check engine light came on. Codes p0440 was thrown 2x. I already replaced purge valve at my own cost. I also informed Dodge. They won't fix it unless I pay for diagnosis. Which I already had one done. Also headlight bulb dropped at 38k miles and I informed Dodge and mechanic. She said I didn't have the warranty on it and they wouldn't replace unless I paid full cost.

The drivers side wheel, hub assembly axle bearing front suspension broke off. Completely broke off. Extremely dangerous and seriously danaged.
Tire wears prematurely cause vibrations in steering which can cause lose of steering control. Bozak of merrillville in technician describes the issue as Dodge using lower quality tires on a performance SUV. These vehicles are most commonly used for hauling around families. I find it disappointing that this would be the case when a vehicle of this performance and price tags has been subjected to lower quality parts especially on an important item like tires.
Vehicle has loud humming noise coming from passenger side. Took me a month just to get an appointment. . Dropped car off on 12/09/19 @ westbury ,NY Dodge dealer. . Dealer stated car needed wheel hub bearings, states all 4 have been changed. Told to pick car up on 12/17/19, car was never test driven as stated and problem was worst. Left car to correct, picked car up again on 12/18/19 to here a new problem which was rubbing from passenger rear. . Service rep. Dominique who test drove with me said that this was normal. (unsatisfactory). Service rep. Handling my car is manny. , gives me the run around, doesnt stay intouch only after I make numerous complaints, promised to give me a loaner vehicle ,then when I show up I dont recieve one , reason being I didnt purchase car from them, but ok to be inconvenienced for over 10 days. . I was told by both reps. To take car and bring back if issue continues. (situation was still ongoing). . This is very unsatisfactory and how will I be compensated. My vehicle still isnt fixed and I live in pennsylvania and car is in NY. .

There is a rubbing/grinding sound from the front right tire going 55+mph. The heating & cooling is shutting off and not turning back on. Radio screen is hot to the touch.
Basically, for each problem I'm having either my truck shuts off without warning while driving at any speed or in the middle of turning (electrical stability). Radiator fan fuse blows each time its suppose to come on (engine) and car shakes while driving or exact what NHTSA campaign 08e064000 states.

Makong turns, the oil pressure plummets. Wheel speed sensors are causing the dash light to stay on. Been through 2 new pcm computers. Spark plugs foul out too easy. Battery temp sensor needs to be beefed up. Factory anti theft system stopped working. There is a short somewhere. This Durango has died while in motion too. Scary.

I purchased a vehicle from stg auto group in garden grove and noticed a week later while my car was parked in my driveway, that there was a large slash on the front passenger tire on the wheel wall with an orange painted circle around it. I was told by a professional that the dealership noticed it, and circled the slash because was meant for it to to be changed to pass the safety inspection to be sold. The service department did not replace the tire before selling and now is a safety hazard. The dealer is refusing to replace the tire.
To whom this may concern: the axle shaft nut is notorious for rusting badly on these vehicles. Water gets trapped behind the center cap on the wheel and moisture causes the shaft ends and nuts to corrode at an accelerated rate. Mine are almost completely unrecognizable as nuts at this point, and should I have to remove the nuts to service anything (emergency brake components for example) I will end up having to yank out and completely replace my cv shafts. This is a well documented design flaw that may also be the result of inferior metals used to manufacture the axle shafts (fca will never admit that). If my axles were to fail at a high speed of rate, due to inferior metals used by the fca, I would think that that would be a design issue that should be covered by the manufacturer. Google "durango axle shaft nut rust" or "wk2 axle shaft nut rust" and see for yourself. The photos are horrifying. I find this to be very disturbing, and life threatening. This problem was fixed starting with 2014 vehicles, and mine is a 2013. I would like to have this problem resolved, as it would be much easier for you all to fix this rather than fix a lawsuit if I have a vehicle failure. Regards, gabriel jacobs.

I paid aprx $400 for new tires may 18 2018. On 6/29 on highway I had a blow out. Had to find a walmart in daphne al to get new tire. They said OH maybe from the heat and kept making excuses but bottom line tires were about a month old was no reason that should happened. So we replaced the tire and wouldnt let me keep blown out one for proof. Now past couple weeks thr same tire they replaced has been getting low over and over. Today go out and basically was flat to rim . I go get air and see bubbles from in between treads thanks to ut being wet outside. Come to walmart again and now fight begins because I shouldn't have to pay for a tire a third time obviously they are defective and need recalled! luckiky first time we didn't get hurt or cause accident while doing 70mph on highway. Second time same tire luckily my sister noticed it before we got on highway.
I was stopped at a stop sign and put vehicle in park and exited the vehicle and it started rolled backwards and knocked me down and rolled over me and caused a broken arm, 3 broken ribs and a bad bruise that needed surgery after it didn't dissolve like it's suppose to.
For 2 years we had issues with worn inner walls in front & steering shake. We brought it in with extended warranty along with video of noise from self diagnostic. Our concerns were dismissed by dealership & another automotive shop informed me that both front hubs were bad. Called dealership again & same dismissal. We changed both hubs at our own expense and problem fixed. Bushing was making horrendous noise and also dismissed by dealership. Changed that on our own expense and issue solved. Alternator was supposedly changed due to recall by dealership & after inspecting it, we have both agreed that the alternator hasn't been touched. Bolts show no signs of any type of torque and alternator is dusty and dirty as is the rest of the components in engine bay which also lead us to the conclusion. This vehicle was and I believe still is unsafe due to recall concerns and the local dealership absolutely refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing. I will be seeking further action against them and hope this doesn't continue to happen to others.
Michelin tires 265/60/r18 dry rot tire chunking. These tires are the original tires from the purchase of the 2012 Durango 35000 miles with 65000 miles warranty michelin refuses to replace them. Without me paying 47 percent of the cost. The issue is the tires are faulty I will be providing pictures. I have never see this kind of issue with any tire on any of my other cars I have owned michelin need to own up to the fact the tires are faulty. I had them inspected. The report was verified. They have had so many recalls on other brands mine are latitude tour. I hope to get a resolution I currecntly have the SUV parked due incident that took place July 22 2017 due to tire pressure loss immediteyl was able to return home and just park it. Otherwise it would have a major accident thank you for allowing me to submit this issue and look forward to some kind of resolution.

The car has always "raddled" since I first bought it. I was told the problem was the tires and that they'd been rotated and should be fixed. I bought the car in June 2017 and have had to replace all 4 tires since despite my many complaints. Yesterday, the vehicle shifted gears while driving, horn started honking uncontrollably until I had to remove the fuse, the screens all blanked out and flashed warnings, headrests voluntarily folding. . . All while my 3 children were in the car during a hurricane. The vehicle was in motion on a city street.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Durango. While driving 15 mph, the contact swerved to avoid a cat when the front passenger wheel, ball joints, and struts failed without warning. As a result, the contact struck another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The driver sustained injuries that caused him to receive stitches on her left inside upper lip. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Nitto terra grabbler. Purchased 4 tires on 11/12/15. Rear passenger tire failed / completely came apart and into two pieces while I was driving on a two lane road (pch) the safety brake cable was also damaged. I was towed home. The dealer and nitto have refused to replace the tire. Instead of keeping the tire for inspection, the dealer threw the tire away. Tire was gone the following day. I have pictures of the tire. I want all the tires replaced as there is a safety issue here with these tires that could result in great bodily injury or death. Nitto tires have been recalled in the past due to failure.
Front wheel bearings failed at only 38,000 miles. In addition, all four tires experienced premature tire wear due to this condition, as the tires were rotated on a regular basis.
The spare tire winch on my vehicle failed and the spare tire fell to the pavement. In my case I was fortunate to be in a parking lot when it happened and there was no accident. If this had happened on the highway an accident would have almost surely resulted. The spare tire on these vehicles is quite large and heavy and could cause a large number of possible outcomes if hit at highway speeds. The spare tire winch uses a stranded steel cable to lift and lock the spare tire up against the bottom of the vehicles frame. This stranded steel cable failed right where it passed through the center of the rim. This stranded steel cable is going to fail eventually on every Dodge truck that used this design of winch. Everyone will eventually fail. Chrysler has used this design in literally hundreds of thousands of vehicles over the years since the 90s or before. It amazes me that there has been no accidents or fatalities resulting from the failure of the winch. An internet search showed many instances of the spare tire falling from the vehicle due to the cable failing.
Recently I had a flat tire. I pulled out the jack supplied by Dodge, when attempting to raise the car the jack was rigid. When I raised the car I took the car's tire and placed it under the vehicle, while I was bringing the spare tire down, the jack gave way and the car landed on top of the tire I had just removed from the car. Thanks, that I had placed that tire there, otherwise the car would had fallen on me. I went to the dealership to have the jack replaced and they say that is not included in the warranty. Reading Dodge warranty from their home page they say everything is included, except for tires and wireless headphones. My car is under warranty and no one wants to solve this problem. Nhtsa should open an investigation on this regards, I am sure I am not the only one with this situation.
I was on my way home from work when I heard a loud clicking noise . I also noticed there are a lot of problems with this truck . I recently bought it and I looked online almost everything I saw was bad . These trucks need to be rebuilt or repair right .
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the vehicle seized into four wheel drive as the service four wheel drive warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 202,000.
I was driving my vehicle , at about 65 mph, when it suddenly locked. It a 4 wheel drive. I had the 4 wheel service light blink and the it suddenly locked and couldnt shift gears. I had to have my vehicle towed.
While vehicle is parked there is a noise from transmission switching in and out of all wheel drive and switching back to 4 wheel drive by itself. Engine is not running. This happens when parked only so far. I'm afraid could switch during driving. It has happened also when hitting the unlock button on the key fob. I originally thought another car was having trouble starting beside my truck. I soon realized it was my vehicle making this noise issue?.
