Three problems related to child seat tether strap have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Child Seat Tether Strap problem

Failure Date: 09/25/2000

Day cares vehicle used to transport children has a integral child seat. Harness strap tightens up & is very hard to release. It appears to be a safety hazard. In the event of an accident, it could be time consuming & dangerous to the child trying to get them out. Dealer hasn't responded to the problem.

2 Child Seat Tether Strap problem

The straps to the safety seat do not retract properly to hold the child securely. There should be another piece to keep the child from separating the straps and getting out of the seat. Also the child is able to release the safety seat extensions which were installed to fix the problem when the safety seats were recalled.

3 Child Seat Tether Strap problem

Child seat belts would not retrack while child was locked in. Please provide further inofrmation.
