Failure Date: 08/03/1998

Descending mountain out of yosemite. Front brakes overheated and caught fire. Flames visible through wheel spokes on both left front and right front wheels. Put out fire with water. Valve cover on tire stem melted but no other user visible damage. Dealer inspected brakes and adjusted rear brakes to handle more load, said everything else looks ok. I believe anytime normal use of the vehicle causes flames it is a safety hazard.
