Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem #1

The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. He states that for the last two years all the gauges will go out while driving. The check engine light came on while the car was running. Also, while this problem was happening abs brakes failed. Dealer said that the problem could have been the body control module. They could reprogram or rebuild it. The vehicle will not tabulate miles. He has known 1994's to do the same thing . They replaced the bcm, and a couple of years later it went out again. If consumer takes y fist and hits the dash the lights will come back on. This worked for a while but since the problem was happening more often this didn't fix the problem anymore. He checked the NHTSA website for this problem and has seen other complaints listed but under different components. The car was actually falsifying mileage because it will not tabulate the miles correctly. He had the name and address of the 1994 Dodge owner.

Other Fuel System problem #2

The contact owned a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 35 mph, an abnormal fuel odor was present inside the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder lane and the engine compartment caught fire. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a fire report. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 00v268000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 275,000. The vehicle was destroyed.

Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem #3

On 01/23/17 I took a short drive in the car and I smelled a slight stench of gasoline but didn't think much of it at the time, until later on in the day when I had to take my car out again and the engine started smoking and burst into flames. The vehicle was stationary and the keys were in the ignition then I proceeded to started the car and that's when it happened, so im guessing it was fuel injection problem.
