Transmission Noise problems of the 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

Two problems related to transmission noise have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2004

While driving on the highway at 65 mph there was a sudden grinding noise. A technician inspected the vehicle and determined that the transmission was falling apart and that the vehicle shouldn't be driven. The consumer spoke to the dealership who indicated that these transmissions have a high failure rate, but they didn't indicated what is causing the failure.

2 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2002

While driving 25 mph a loud noise came from underneath vehicle, and then vehicle stopped moving while engine was still running. Dealer was notified. Dealer found broken pin possibly with the transmission.
