Should a vehicle owner continue to keep their older vehicles the headlamps on many vehicles have plastic faces that become etched over time making it impossible to drive the vehicle at night without putting on the high beams. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where it was diagnosed that the back up switch had failed. The mechanic advised that the switch was located within the transmission and the entire transmission would need to be removed to perform the repair. The vehicle was not repaired.
