I rear ended a vehicle and no air bags were inflated. I just bought the vehicle from a private owner. I was traveling about 25 mph when traffic stopped immediately. I hit my brakes but not soon enough. The vehicle I hit had no damage. I have a broken bumper and bent hood.
I was involved in an accident while in motion at 35 miles per hour in san antonio texas on a dry, 4 lane street, whereas a truck ran a stop on 5/6/2016. My vehicle frontend traveling straight on a level surface, 4 lane street & struck the other vehicle causing my vehicle to be totaled. I was wearing my seatbelt & suffered lower back, neck & left phemur injuries. I went to the hospital for emergency care. Since February 2016 I wrote letters to the car dealership whom dold me this vehicle & no response.
I was going through a drive-thru when my knee accidentally bumped the key in the ignition and the vehicle cut off. I turned it back on and bumped it again to test it, and it happened again. I tried it while the vehicle was in park as well as in drive and reverse and it happened each time. I recently read about the gm / Dodge /Chrysler ignition and airbag issues, but my vehicle year is not being investigated or recalled. I demand that the investigation and recalls are expanded to include models going back to at least 2005, including any vehicles with this engineering or part defect.
The airbag dash lights came on and have not shut off. After researching I found that there is a recall for this problem only when I call I'm told the service for this has already been done. I explained that it had not, that I had never taken it in for this before. He stated it had been done in 2007, yet this recall wasn't in effect until June of 2010. I called him out on that and all he could say was that I don't qualify. According to NHTSA campaign id number : 10v008000 my car is included in this recall. What can I do?.
Dash board lights and interior lights went out came on again for five minutes and went back out.
My 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan door locks stopped working and when car drives 20mph they no longer automatic lock, this is a safety issue with children. When contacting Dodge they said its a software update that is needed. Since when do we buy cars and then need to pay hundreds to have the software updated. With thousands of complaints on the internet with the same problems and no body wants to make this a recall. I guess Dodge/Chrysler are waiting for a child to be killed before making this a recall. If any of my children get hurt there will be a lawsuit.
Air bag lamp on clock spring was replaced 10/31/07 air bag lamp on clock spring was replaced 12/15/08 was beyond 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.
Cathedral city Dodge refused to work on the recall because the vehicle was modified. The recall problem had nothing to do with the modifications but cathedral city Dodge refused to work on it. . After several heated conversations with management cathedral city Dodge returned my vehicle with a dead battery, and a leak in my engine and did not fix the recalled item. After I received my vehicle I noticed that the new problems with my vehicle had nothing to do with the modifications but were independent from any modifications previously made to my vehicle. After complaining to the Dodge corporation I was referred to the Dodge service center in laquinta. There my car was equipped with a new battery and the recall item was not fixed because the manager refused to work on the vehicle because of the modifications. I called laquinta Dodge to complain and my vehicle was returned to me with the engine leak, the unserviced recall item and now in doesn't shift into gear. The cathedral city service center and the laquinta service center didn't even check to see if the problems were in anyway way connected to the modifications. They just refused to even look at it. Now there is another recall on my Dodge Grand Caravan that has to do with the airbags and laquinta is refusing to work on it. In summary my vehicle arrived in palm springs fully operational in June 2006 and ever since the first contact with cathedral city service center my vehicle has been inoperable. Between the cathedral city and laquinta Dodge service centers my car now has an engine leak, a bad heating coil, defected airbags problems shifting into gear and does not start. My vehicle was fully operational and had 80 miles on it when it arrived at cathedral city Dodge in 2006 and now has 87 miles on it and is in operable. That?s 87 miles not 8,700 or 87,000 miles. It has only 87 miles because it hasn't been running since cathedral city and laquinta Dodge have damaged my vehicle.
My wife was involved in an accident on December 7, 2006 wherein her 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan was rear ended by a truck while she was stopped in traffic. The impact was great enough to push her vehicle into the back of the vehicle in front of her. Despite the degree of impact, which was enough to total her Mini van, none of the airbags released. I am concerned as to why this was the case.
