The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the technician could not find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 144,700.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving approximately 45 mph, the traction control sensor light suddenly illuminated and the vehicle would not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. After turning the vehicle off and restarting the engine, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The contact also indicated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall remedy for NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical systems) was performed to replace the ignition switch. After replacing the switch, several electrical systems in the vehicle suddenly shut off, including the door locks, power windows, power brakes, and power steering. While examining the vehicle, it was determined that the electrical systems would shut off but the engine would continue to operate if the ignition key was rotated slightly too far. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,501.
