1 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2017

Bought vehicle used from kia dealership August 2016. March 2017 I started experiencing problems with headlights intermittently shutting off either before startup (while parked and ignition off) or during operation (while driving). All other electrical systems seemed fine including amber running lights, tail-lights, turn signals, and brake lights. Took vehicle to mechanic July 2017, no issues were found. No problems for 2 weeks, then started experiencing same problem. No recalls or solutions found at this time.

2 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2015

When this incident ocurred, I was driving 20 mph in a school zone and my daughter was in the van with me. All the electrical instrumentation suddenly turned off. The van continued to move forward, but the turn signals, dash instrument panel, windows, locks, etc. All failed to work. I thought a fuse had blown or something. I pulled off the road and parked, but the van would only turn part way off. The motor stopped running, but the key indicated that the motor was still on. The key would not turn counter clockwise, or "off" past the "on" designation marked on the ignition. The key would not release/come out of the ignition. Since I could not get the key out of the ignition, I tried to start the van. It would not start. My husband came out and tried to jump start it, thinking it might be a problem with the battery. This was unsuccessful. I had called a local mechanic from the car, and with his help my husband was able to get the van started. He drove it to the mechanic's shop. The mechanic looked at the "codes" and said it looked like it was under recall. He was able to get the key to release and my husband drove the van to the local Dodge dealership. The dealership told him that our van was part of an ignition recall and that Dodge would have the parts replaced. We have been waiting more than two weeks now, and still the dealer says the parts are not available. I am afraid to drive the van. I transport my children and children in a carpool. I cannot risk their safety, and I have no car to drive to work. The first week without the van, I borrowed a car. I was on vacation for the next week. I believed Dodge would have the parts to fix my van in those two weeks. Dodge has still not fixed my van. If these problems cause a wreck, will the airbags even deploy? it is apalling that Dodge expects me to drive my family around in an unsafe vehicle.

3 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2012

Rear passenger wheel gets extremely hot while driving. It appears that the caliper may be locking up. The rear wheel on the driver side also makes a high pitched whine, which is intermittent and usually goes away by tapping the brake pedal. We took it to the dealer and they said we needed a rear brake job. However, I believe this is due to defective calipers which are not releasing the pads from the rotors. The rear brakes on every car I have owned always last significantly longer than the front. The fact that the rear pads are worn excessively while front are not indicates a defect in the rear brake assembly. The ignition was repaired as part of a recall. However, after starting the car, the key does not return to the "on" position. This allows the car to run and be driven, however none of my lights or directionals work. I can wiggle the key to get it into the correct position, but sometimes it is not obvious that the key is in the wrong position. This results in me driving without headlights in the rain and thinking that I am signaling properly in turns when in fact everything is off.
