The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that when traveling with the cruise control set at any speed, the vehicle would accelerate beyond the set speed limit. The failure was most prominent when traveling downhill and the vehicle would continue to accelerate until the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was advised that although the failure was common, there was not a remedy available to rectify the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 31,000 and the current mileage was 34,000.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2012

Tl - the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the electronic throttle control warning lamp illuminated and the vehicle suddenly decelerated independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired.
