While the emergency parking brake was activated and vehicle in park in the driveway that is on a hill, the car began rolling down the driveway at a fast rate of speed with no one in drivers seat. 3 young kids were in car seats in the van with it running while we were outside of the vehicle speaking. All doors locked and it flew down the driveway almost flipping over at the bottom. We took the vehicle to the dealership we purchased it from on June 29, 2023 and they could not recreate the issue. No warning lights were on prior to this incident and when citizens that stopped when this happened, got in the vehicle to dislodge it from the dirt that thankfully stopped it from flipping, they verified that it still showed the e brake as being engaged it was still in park. No police or insurance was called because there was no damage to the vehicle or children but the dealership was called. I do have video of this event but your website does not accept videos.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated she was unable to start the ignition. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she waited 20 minutes and was able to restart the ignition and drive to her destination. The contact stated the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed local dealer grogan's towne Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (6100 telegraph rd, toledo, OH 43612; (419) 476-0761), where it was diagnosed with needing "ripm module" to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000. Dp.
Van will bog down and then just shut off. Will also take 5-6 times before it will restart. The electrical goes haywire randomly. Found out the tipm is bad and there was a recall on other vehicles doing the same exact thing during the same years.
I have had my van now for about 700 miles, we bought it used from a local dealership. I ran the van through an automatic car wash, and when I put the van back into gear and began to move the check engine light came on. So I turned off the van hoping to reset the check engine light and the van did not want to start back up. (at this point I am in a alley with one way traffic) finally I got the van to start but the check engine light was still on when I put it into gear it sputtered and then stopped it gave a red light with a bolt through it and also the oil light came one. Again I tried several times to start the vehicle and finally got it to go again. Then while driving down the road it began shifting on its own, it is an automatic but the 1, 2, 4, 3 , 2 , 1 gears began showing an finally it stalled, lucky I was able to coast into a parking lot. This vehicle is not trust worthy. Please investigate this issue. I do have some video of these things happening.
Anybody out there with a human sense , listen up I was stranded on the road miles away from any sort of aid this van just die , I try to started multiple times but it didn't work finally I had a tow truck pick up the vehicle , which was very expensive. Just to tell me that there is a factory malfunction in the electricall system ever since has been dying and sometimes turning on eventually, this is not a reliable car for a family , there has to be a recalll it's not righttt this big manufacturing do a bad job and we pay for it big time I have children little babies .
There is a faulty tipm in my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. This causes my vehicle to stall in the middle of the road or not start when I am away from home. We have been stuck blocking traffic on the middle of a busy highway multiple times due to a fuel pump relay that stops working and disrupts gas flow to the engine. Currently my car is disabled due to this tipm. Diesel Dodge vehicles are unsafe due to the disruption in the power module that supplies every system in the car with power to keep the vehicle running. As I was driving today, my air conditioner stopped, all lights on the dashboard lit up and I'll try am is in the car we're arranging this caused me to turn and go home immediately so I would not get stuck in the middle of the highway. Once I got home I was on able to start my vehicle and it currently has no power at all.

Tamara are all I was driving home from the hospital and all of a sudden the van would not go over 20 mph. We were on the highway. And it was without warning. I had to pull over at a service station and wait 45 mins for someone to come. I had it towed to my house the next day which cost 150 dollars. Then I tried to take it to a shop to be fixed but after 1. 5 weeks they say it would be 2500 to fix. We didn't have that because my husband was in the hospital for heart failure. So I had to go get another car and am waiting for the van to be fixed. I am pregnant and had my daughter with me on the side of the road in a gas station. Which was terrible.
Dodge caravan 2011, a few times out of a week and month once I use the car and then turn it off once I want to turn it on again it won't start. And it will start about 2 hours or more later. I owned it for a year already and I've been dealing with this for a whole year, I am desperate.
Driving down the road at 55 mph van started making weird clunking sounds lights began to dim lost accelerator control, brakes pulled to side of road manage to come to a stop vehicle still was making sounds and lights were flashing I put it in park vehicle stalled out I tried to restart and nothing wouldn't even turn over just clicked. Had it towed only came back as low voltage they replaced battery tried to restart engine still made clunking noise van still wouldn't start, oil pan was dropped and had chunks of metal in it. Final conclusion engine blown I have seen some recalls on this engine 3. 6 vvt also previously had a problem with tipm I also see has an ongoing. Possible recall and is recalled in other vehicles that use same part. Would really love my van fixed as this engine is known to have problems.

The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate as the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the speed dropped to 40 mph and she was unable to accelerate any further. The vehicle was taken to freedom Dodge Chrysler Jeep (815 e camp wisdom rd, duncanville, TX 75116 (972) 572-2277) where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission that needed replacement. 2011 Dodge caravan purchased 3/2017. Motor had a slight knocking sound took it back to dealer they sent me to their mechanic. I was assured that it was fine. Then brakes went really low and did not stop right. Told it was a master cylinder. Installed that then it happened again so was told that it was a bad master cylinder. Installed another one. Did not fix the problem after a few days. ????? then I was told we needed a brake booster. Installed that and it did seem like that was it fixed, then the brake light came on and brake pedal went low. Now it has a very horrible sound and the trany at times does not want to shift and the rpm's go up and I have to pull over and shut off the vehicle and turn it back on and it will shift. ???? electronical. ??? I have read complaints on NHTSA and I feel like Dodge should repair the brakes and the trany problem. From what I can read it is a defective part of the programming. The horrible nosie when you pull off, I dont know what it is but sounds bad. . I called Dodge dealership right after I bought the van and they were very rude and said there were not any recalls for this 2011 van and I see that there is and some says complete. Well if they are complete seems to me like it needs to be repaired again because it is doing what I see that people are complaining about. I owe nearly 14,000 on this van. . Doge/Chrysler should make it good. The complete on the recalls like I said is not complete. Please help me if you can. I dont have much faith after the person at the Dodge dealership was so rude to me, but maybe you all there can help me get it repaired. This is a safety issue. The windows sometimes dont want to come down and yall have something about it might catch on fire. The keybob will not open the side doors.
My van does not always start. --when parked in driveway or parking lot; no difference if flat or hill or anything. Some days it starts with out any problems, other days it will not start ever--it might start at 8am, not at 11am, but work for a week. . . No pattern. I have had it to the show 3 times in the last 3 months--each time it stayed for more than 3 days. They thought battery; bought a new battery. Next day, no start. Only warning light was key battery low--so they changed that (even though I had already done that). Next day, no start and same low key bat warning. Then it would be fine for a few days. . . And again random start or no starts. The last time the red "electronic throttle control" light was on--it shuts off after a few seconds. Sometimes, when it doesn't want to, but then does start, it acts like it wants to shut down while I am driving. It will sputter and seem like it wants to shut off. The folks at the garage are completely perplexed by this and have offered to come to my house/work the next time to see it bc it doesn't always do it for them--we think because if I jump it, it does a temporary fix. But, they also warn based on over charging/shocking a good battery. Anything we google says to be careful driving and get to shop. . . Well shop can't figure it out. I have heard about a few recalls for ignition and keys, and I have a call in to the dealership about this. I am worried that I will be stuck out with my kids; end up crashing with my kids; or with the bad weather coming, we will have either of them happen and be stuck in the snow.
Vehicle does not start easily and at times experiences total power loss I've changed every fuse and relay as well as fuel pump and any other module or relay that can be replaced and much to my dispare the problems are still there to the point I don't feel safe driving with or without my whole family when it finally does decide to start it runs great but then you have to worry about the complete power loss issue which renders my brakes power steering and stability control completely useless! I don't know what else to do I'm stuck paying my finance company for a vehicle I can't drive and basically serves as little more than a pretty yard ornament we just got this vehicle in November 2015 the first sign of an issue was less than a week after purchase after little more than a month after driving off the lot and the third time losing power while driving the final time being on 275 in cincinnati 1/5/16 I decided that it's probably best to park the vehicle and not put our family in jeopardy especially during the cold cincinnati winter until we can figure it out or afford both the car payment and the trip to the ridiculously expensive Dodge dealership to pay for their technicians figure it out and then pay again to have it repaired.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 65 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle lost acceleration power. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,867.
Don't buy Dodge Grand Caravan 2011 to 2015 they have major problem with engine and transmission engine 3. 6l making ticking sound fix it on warranty and after 40,000 miles I have same problem ticking from engine and the transmission in trafic jerking engine had recall on heads still has problems.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who stated that the total integrated power module failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I was travelling the speed limit of 70 mph on the highway and had to slow down to 50-55 mph for a merging vehicle. When I changed lanes and accelerated, the engine revved up to 4000 rpm and stuck there, and I was going over 80 very quickly. I took my foot off the accelerator and the van continued to accelerate. I put the van in neutral and braked, and was able to get over to the shoulder and stop and turn off the engine. Very dangerous situation. I started the van back up and the engine went right back to 4000 rpm - exactly where it was before. I turned the engine off and then repeated the process another 3 times - straight back to 4000 rpm. I verified that the accelerator was not stuck on anything. Since the van has the auto-manual transmission where I can shift manually, I started the van, and immediately put it in drive and shifted manually, and the engine kicked a few times and then began to run normally. Ran normally all the way home. Called a few dealers, none of which seemed too concerned and couldn't get my van in for over a week. When I finally got a dealer to look at it, they performed a recall for the powertrain control module and said everything was working fine. There was nothing in the recall about this issue, and none of the service depts I called had heard of it.
The contact owns a 2001 dodg egrand caravan. The contact stated that the when the vehicle was shifted in drive and the steering wheel was turn to the left the gear shift goes into neutral. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was told the vehicle had an automatic/ manual transmission that was able to shift without warning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not offer any assistance since that was how the vehicle was deisign. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 32,548.
Start engine, put into reverse, the check engine light and esc light comes on. Only seems to effect vehicle operation when driving down road and slowing down to make turn or stop. Then it sort of jerks or downshifts roughly. Bought this vehicle used on July 13, 2012. This has happened 4 times already. When I took it back for them to check it for codes, they said nothing showed up and just reset it. It happened again before I got home.
Well from the time I purchased the car I told the dealer about the ignition. The car speeding off while I'm driving in a regular street or highway. The warning lights doesn't warn . Enough is enough. Riding in the car in street yesterday once again the steering wheel locked in me in traffic and it shut down. No warning. So dangerous. There is no way there should be so many complaints about the same issues and they not have a recall and repairs . My alternator actually fried and we could have been killed along with my children!!!! I'm scared. Im paying $500. 00 dollars a month for a vehicle that is sitting and I can't drive. Please give hello me to get justice.
When vehicle is started, engine rpms surge up and down, will not settle for about 1-2 minutes. Sometimes it will cause car to launch forward and continue to kick forward unintended once shifted into "d" I have taken vehicle to several dealers, on multiple occasions. They have done numerous repairs, but unable to find a fix. Problem has progressed to misfire at highway speeds which causes a violent shake until I manually downshift (with electric shifter) I have made formal complaints to Chrysler, but no call backs. Dealer has found codes p0300, and p0301 pending, stored, and active on various times. According to Chrysler master tech, Chrysler knows of defect and effects early 3. 6 pentastar engine, but hasn't found a fix. What makes this a safety concern, is that I to merge on the highway, or pass a vehicle, I have to race the engine, and hope the engine doesn't fail or shut off. Currently, im awaiting another appointment with Chrysler, but knowing there isn't a formal solution has me concern for the safety of my children as I drive them around.
Check engine light came on in early December. Dealer reset the error code and said it was probably nothing. Light came back on a few days later so we brought back to the dealer - the consulted with Chrysler and replaced the cam phasers and said that should fix the problem. Within a couple of days the check engine light and traction control light both came on and the car lost all ability to accelerate. Driving on highway at 70mph, gas pedal to the ground did nothing and car coasted to 50mph before it would lurch forward and coast back down and eventually corrected itself but lights remained on. Dealer consulted with Chrysler again and they replaced the cam phaser sensors and said that should fix it. Within a few days same thing happened, driving on highway, check engine and traction control light turned on and car lost all acceleration and coasted down to 50mph and would lurch forward and then cost down - rpms wouldn't go above 1300rpm and couldn't get acceleration back. Took car back to dealer (fortunately was only a few miles from the dealer) and they had it for 2 weeks and Chrysler recommended replacing both wiring harnesses and that should fix the problem. Within a week, same problem, driving on highway at 70mph - check engine and traction control light comes on, no ability to accelerate or maintain speed, car coasted down to 50mph and would lurch forward and cost back down. Returning car to dealer again (mid February). Quite dangerous to (repeatedly) loose acceleration and with no ability to maintain speed when driving at 70mph on a highway.
Possible transmission servo issue. After shifting from park to drive/reverse and pressing on accelator the vehicle will abruptly lunge in the direction of the selected gear. This happens so suddenly that it causes panic to all inside/outside the vehicle. There are many other owners that I have talked to that mention the same issue, but they don't seem to care as much as I do to report it. This may cause a variety of situations to why this is unsafe. Dealer has told me that this is normal, and no concern since there is no recall. This is very abnormal, or out the norm versus other vehicles with automatic transmission and I do not believe this as this vehicle being unique as it is more than one vehicle.
