I can't unscrew 4 lug nuts on my rear wheel. I was able to remove just one bought extra tool try to remove them all. Material is like butter, not steel. How engineering could let material like that to be used. I found on the web that a dealer wonna $400 to remove that lugs. . . .
My back passenger sliding door buzzes loudly when it unlocks or locks. It just started 3 days ago and I've had the van since early this year. Normal usage, never misused. I take good care of the van.
The lock on the right side sliding door panel does not latch. The door manually closes but will not lock when pressing the automated lock/unlock buttons from both the driver and passenger sides and the car remote.
Suden oil filter housing leak which lead to oil light eliminating within 8000 miles. Oil pools in engine crevice, hiding leak. Repair shop stated it’s a known Dodge issue seen monthly.
I was driving in normal conditions , the drivers headrest deployed with no collision , the headrest hit me in the back of my head.
The driver’s side rear sliding door does not work properly. There is a loud buzzing noise when the car is in motion and the door does not open all of the time. Now, passengers are forced to get out of the vehicle on the passenger side.
There are multiple whirring and clicking noises in the walls of the cargo area, mostly in passenger side. This happens when I lock/unlock the auto, and close the doors. I also hear what sounds like a moan coming from the dash, at least 2-3 times after I've closed and locked it, from the inside. I just purchased it used, with around 98k miles on it.
Noticed oil where I normally park my vehicle. Took the van into a mechanic so he could look at it. He stated that the oil leak came from a broken/ cracked oil filter housing. Which he also stated it was an issue among multiple Grand Caravans that have been brought in. It did not give me a warning and the mechanic said if it would have fully broken I could have lost all oil and my engine could have seized up. Which poses a concern considering it is my daily driver and it did not warn me about low oil. I’ve also taken it to the same repair shop for issues with the fuel injectors and coils. Which could be an issue because that caused stalling while I was driving on the highway.
Buzzing in side door when unlocking.
Passenger side sliding door suddenly stopped opening. It will not unlock using the remote, car door buttons, or manually. This presents a safety issue for back seat passengers. If the other door fails, the will be unable to exit the vehicle without climbing over the seats to use the front door. This could be deadly in an emergency. There was no warning, it simply stopped working. In my research, I came across many other Dodge caravan owners who complain of the same issue. Repair prices have been quoted $1000-1500.
Sliding doors have stopped working. Doors are stuck in locked position. Cannot open even manually. Happened first on passenger side now on drivers side.
Rear passenger sliding door actuator failed. This is a common problem with these vehicles and poses an extremely dangerous safety risk when an owner is unable to open/close the door and when the door opens on its own due to failed lock actuator. This poses a risk for fire safety, wreckage safety to exit vehicle and poses significant risk to person's riding in the seat while the door can open spontaneously. There is also a risk factor because the door cannot lock or unlock (depending on which position the door gets stuck in when the part fails). Thousands of owners of these specific vehicles are asking for a recall for safety reasons.
My van was parked in my driveway overnight and both of the headrests deployed. I am grateful I was not driving it. I couldn’t get them to close they are stuck open. When called dealer was told was not covered even though I have mopar coverage. Since it’s so much to fix it out of pocket the safety feature is virtually useless because I can’t have it fixed.
Passenger side front headrest is popped out. Not exactly sure when it happened, because I didn't notice until someone sat in the seat and complained how uncomfortable it was for their head. It had to have happened sometime between 12/1/20 and 12/4/20.
Faulty actuator, doors make a sound when unlocking and now resulting in one door not opening. The noise happens all of the time (park or going) just the unlock button has to be pressed.
The a/c is blowing hot air on the passenger side and in the rear of the van.
The actuator on the passenger sliding door was making a buzzing noise for a few weeks and then the door just froze shut. After googling some things, this is a common problem on these vehicles and it should be a recall!!! I am letting the several others know to file a complaint as well.
My hvac system is not working properly. We checked to see if the hvac recall was performed and my dealership ship says it was a minor part that was fixed, but everything I read on the 2016 recall says a huge recall was performed on the hvac system. My dealership says the recall isn't warranty applicable and therefore I have to pay out of pocket! my ac is blowing hot and it continuously will change from ac to recirculate to no ac on its own. It's all apart of the program that is supposed to be warrantied. It's dangerous to not have adequate ac while stopped at a stop light in colorado while it's so hot here. My ac blows hot on the passenger side and when completely stopped or slow speeds, it gets hot. Only stays cold while going faster speeds. Dealership refuses to replace the recalled parts from 2016 stating they aren't under lifetime warranty. Please help!.
Vehicle, stationary, car does not start on the first try if it sits for over 4 hours. Cranks then stalls, or cranks over and over until eventually catching. New: car battery, battery tender/charger, new/upgraded spark plugs, new/upgraded ignition coils. Appears to be tipm failing. Has been getting progressively worse over the past few weeks.
I changed my battery in my van and now the ac doesn't work and it seems like I smell coolant burning and when I'm driving between 40 to 50 it's very sluggish. And I had to have an auto shop check my transmission fluid cuz it felt like my transmission was slipping. And when they checked it they said I was really low on transmission fluid but they don't know where the transmission fluid going.
Sliding door lock actuator, buzzing sound when unlock all doors. Can't move the lock by hand it gets stuck.
The passenger seat headrest deployed while the car was sitting in my driveway sometime between Sunday evening (5/26) and Tuesday afternoon (5/28). The car had not been involved in any accidents prior to or during this time frame. My husband and I had driven our 2015 Dodge caravan on Sunday. I was in the passenger seat. I am 8 months pregnant. On Monday, we did not drive the van. On Tuesday around 12 noon, with the car still in the driveway, I noticed that the passenger side headrest had basically exploded. I called the dealership where I had bought the van (a chevy dealership that had received it in a trade-in). They had never heard of such a thing and told me to bring in the van immediately. That afternoon, I (reluctantly) drove the van the 25 miles to the dealership, leaning forward as far as I could in the driver's seat in case it were to deploy. The dealership called me today, Wednesday 5/29, to inform me that Chrysler refuses to accept any responsibility for the defect, and would charge nearly $900 to cover the new headrest. Chevy generously offered to cover half the cost since I am a repeat customer, and they saw this as a severe safety issue. I declined, not wanting to spend over $400 to replace a defective part with another part, especially since this would not ease my worries about the safety of the driver's side. I plan to zip tie the headrests with multiple zip ties. There's no other solution at this time. Even if I were to pay to replace the broken passenger headrest, there is no guarantee at this point that either headrest is safe and will function as intended. I would not feel safe driving with one of these headrests ever again. I would trade in the vehicle, but I am worried this will cause significant financial harm since I only just acquired the vehicle in October 2018. Also, I will be having a baby in 1 month and have no money to spare.
When ac is turned on the passenger side vents blow out hot air while the driver side vents blow out cold air. This car is only four years old and I do not want to send it to the Dodge dealership where I am guaranteed to spend way too much money. This seems to be a major problem with Dodge and Chrysler caravans when you google the issue. .
My drivers side electronica door for the middle seat is stuck in a locked position and will not open with either the remote control or by hand. This is very concerning because of safety issues when I have passengers in the middle seat. What would happen in case of an emergency? I have done my research and have found that this is a very common safety issue in multiple years of Dodge Grand Caravans. I am urging this board to recall Dodge Grand Caravan's with sliding door issues. Please help!!!.
Drivers side air vents blow cold air, passengers side blows out very hot air, everything in the glove boxes get very hot. 2nd time this has occurred. Last time I turned the temp control knobs very quickly both times and it corrected itself, this time not. Other people have logged this same complaint.
Automatic transmission issue needs replaced vehicle 4 years old and cylinder 2 engine misfire.
I live in arizona and the a/c is only blowing cold out of the 2 driver vents. The 2 passenger front vents and all the rear vents blow hot air. If you google this it is a known problem but Dodge will not do anything about it locally with out big bucks out of pocket. With children in 120 f weather and a vehicle that is only 3 years old this isn't what we paid up front in cash fully to expect.
Local laws prohibit leaving a vehicle running while not attended. The low for that night was about -23f. It is not possible to drive the vehicle safely until the windshield is defrosted, so I had to sit in the vehicle for quite some time until the windshield defrosted. While waiting, I got frost bite on the ends of three toes on my left foot. The heater is inadequate to heat the vehicle in the winter. The defroster is inadequate to defrost the windshield in subzero weather. The only heat to the driver's side floor is by the right foot only.
Had a recall fixed on my van for the rear ac/heater fan. . . This fix did not solve the problem and the front makes a horrible noise if turned on. High pitched white noise irritating sound and the higher you turn up the fan the louder it becomes!.
The VIN of my vehicle does not yield any results. The nthsa website gives this message when I enter my VIN: the VIN you entered cannot be processed at this time. If the VIN was entered correctly, please contact your vehicle manufacturer for more information.
Lost and found items the Dodge Grand Caravan hide on important personal items. For example, credit or debit cards. This is in the armrest console. This causes arguments between the driver and the passengers. This can lead to an accident as it causes suspicion of attempted illegal appropriation. Nobody touched the card but the design of the truck yes. It is not obvious to decipher the enigma. Recall, please. . Read more...
A/c stopped working about 3 months and was fluctuating for rear passengers almost a year beforehand which is same for the front passenger. Cold air only blows for the driver. I have 4 children and live in the desert. . . This is unsafe and should be recalled.
The passenger side heat vent only blows hot air no matter what setting you put it on. The drivers side only pushes cold air out. . . . This has become a significant problem in NY as the temperatures vary into the negatives and the triple digits. The vehicle does this no matter what speed, moving and non moving.
