I have the oil changed regularly and keep all records and receipts. I've had the coolant and transmission fluid flushed, the thermostat changed twice, the coolant temperature sensor changed, the oil cooler changed and I checkmy transmission fluid regularly. My van was over heating frequently and no one could figure out why. I changed the coolant our and the temp. Sensor. It doesn't overheat now, but the heater quit working the day it was changed out. It hard shifts from 40 mph and up. Transmission fluid is good. I reset the power module by unhooking the battery for an hour. Still hard shifts . Scanner doesn't bring up any codes. 98,800 miles on it. Back sliding doors won't lock and tire sensor and radio dont work. What can I do? I cant afford a new transmission. The van was bought 2020 and for $19,000. I'm broke.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2025

I had the driver’s side power window go down and not go back up. Had the power window fixed by an auto shop. It was the regulator and motor for the power windows that went bad. $984 later it is now working. I’m reporting this so there’s a record of the issue on this vehicle. 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan gt. 85k miles.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2025

The back up camera is malfunctioning. It is not showing a picture at all anymore. It started right when I bought the car a year and a half ago. It was showing the picture then the picture would go away while I was backing up. It also would show the picture upside down and right side up and the picture would go off and on. Now the picture does not come on at all. I believe this should be a recall issue. I found it to be dangerous to see the picture flipping around upside down and turning off.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2024

The vehicle was running on idle parked after being driven and on for less than 20 minutes. I started the van at 8:35. Drove away at 8:41, let it run on idle for 5 minutes, drove away, let it idle for 2 minutes at 9:04, drove away, let it idle at 9:06 and was smoking and had flames by 9:23 when we noticed it. The heat gauge didn't change, there was no indication that my engine was on fire or there was any issue. It drove fine, no smell, nothing. We have zero idea what happened other than it started in the engine compartment. Is it currently still sitting in the parking lot that it was pushed to away from the building as to not cause more damage to the building. It was sitting outside a building, so everyone inside and outside were in the area of smoke and flames. There is not a police report, but there is a fire report. I can email that over if needed. I'm still waiting for the fire marshalls final report. I also have active videos of it with flames shooting out of the engine and from under the hood if needed that I can email over.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2024

Vehicle just shut off and the red lightning bolt started flashing on the dash.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2024

Drivers side passenger sliding rear door is stuck in the locked position and will not open. I believe the door actuator is froze in the locked position. A disabled person who was riding in that seat was unable to get out the vehicle on his own. He had to be moved to the other side and exit the working door. Had there been an emergency, we would have lost a lot of valuable time. I have an appointment with Dodge for an inspection. Google searches find many people have this same issue.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2024

Driver side passenger sliding door does not open. It is not unlocking, stays in lock position. Completely unable to open the door without breaking it. Huge safety issue with having kids being stuck in the car and not able to order the door. Seen numerous people having same issue with the latching system. No warning was given on the door not being able to work.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2024

My 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan gt driver side sliding door is jammed shut and locked. I took it to 2 dealerships near me and both want almost $1000 per door to fix. The actuator is out and they said the loud noise when opening and closing the passenger side sliding door is a sign that door is also about to go out. My VIN doesn’t fall into the recalls. This seems like it is a hazard. If both doors indeed get stuck then how do you get car seats in and out? isn’t it dangerous if other kids have to climb in and out the front doors? I’m so confused how my van isn’t a recall when it will be dang near impossible to move car seats and kids through front doors or even moving 3rd row to get in and out and put back up for it to be sat in. What do you do in event of a crash or heaven forbid a fire if you can get kids out? please help! this has been going on since March 2024. I have been submitting this issue since I was told cost and was also told the noise the current working door is making is a sign that it also will quit working soon. What else can I do to get this issue fixed. I say this is a manufacturing issue and is highly dangerous.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

The driver's side sliding door will not unlock or open. It was working previously without any problems and now it will no longer open remotely or manually. This is very unsafe for my passengers since they would be trapped inside the vehicle in an emergency or accident situation. I am aware of this being an ongoing problem with the Dodge caravan lock actuator and that a recall was issued for 2015-2017 models. This recall needs to be expanded to include all years from 2018-2020 as it is the same faulty lock actuator problem. There is also a class action lawsuit regarding the faulty lock actuators. Please put pressure on fca us, llc to expand the recall and fix all of their faulty lock actuators. Thank you.

19 Electrical System problem

Driver back sliding door makes buzzing noise when door lacks or unlocks. It will do it also going down road.

20 Electrical System problem

My wife parked the van in our church parking lot. Turned it off and locked the doors like normal. Came out two hours later to see the front windows covered in smoke and the. Hitting the unlock button on the key fob opened the door to find the driver seat melted, center console, right half of steering wheel, driver window visor and roof melted and burnt. The fire of damage was only in that area the rest of the car has heat damage and smoke damage. But from under the driver seat and up completely melted away. This just happened today Feb 4, working though usaa insurance company to figure out the way forward.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

On 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan the side sliding door does not lock. When van is locked, the side sliding door can be opened from the outside (similar issue was reported on 2016 models) while van is supposedly locked. Safety and theft problem.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2023

On my 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan the sliding door, drivers side, became locked and would not open at all. Now I’m stuck with being unable to roll that window down without it malfunctioning completely open and shut. Then the passenger side door became stuck/locked and will not open.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2023

The driver's side rear sliding door is stuck in the locked position so I'm not able to unlock the door. This goes for the button on the front door, the button on the key fob and manually unlocking it from the back seat. This is a huge safety issue. Someone could die if they couldn't get out in an emergency. From doing a quick search online, there are hundreds if not thousands of this same issue. Something must be done before someone dies.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2023

Misfire cylinder #2 all components have been replaced yet the problem still exists.

25 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2023

Electrical: intermittently, the headlights will dim for a second then return to normal—whether at an idle at a traffic light/stop sign, or at highway speeds. The turn signal will also pause briefly, breaking the normal clicking rhythm. Sliding door: the sliding door (driver side) just began experiencing problems on 08/10/2023—upon completing the opening cycle, the door would not latch in the open position, accompanied by a clicking sound. When closing the door, it would stop short of latching closed—again accompanied with the clicking sound. It would click 3-4 times, then stop—the door remaining ajar. This happens regardless the mechanism used to operate the procedure: the button on the console above the dash, the button near the manual door opener (on center pillar), the button on the remote, as well as the exterior door handle. The door will open/close latching properly with manual operation.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2023

Without any warning or problems leading up to this, the sliding door on my passengers side has become “locked” and cannot be opened. I used my keys, and buttons in the car, the door will not open. I even tried to use force and pull it open, but it has not worked. It is stuck in “lock”. This is a safety hazard because my children have to enter and exit on the drivers side now which is often the side facing the open street. Also makes it harder for me to get my child on that side strapped into his car seat. I have to reach back or reach through his window to get him secured. I have not taken the car to a dealership for repairs because I don’t want to be charged for fixing a manufacturer defect.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2023

Vehicle failed inspection, air bag light on. Driver seat wire harness open left thorax squib must replace entire harness, air bag circuits cannot be repaired due to high resistance splicing causes. Part on back order until August 2023!! car cannot be repaired and is out of service, unable to drive, illegal to drive, I have a $20,000 car loan, thrifty car sales of westfield, david dicienzo, violated massachusetts lemon law and refused the car while under the 60 day, 2500 mile used car warranty. Exhaust leak, muffler clamp rusted through, not holding pipes together. Driver front marker light bulb open circuit, bulb needs to be replaced. Air bag light noted to be out by firestone on February 25th, 2023.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2023

Several times now, intermittently, my 2019 van has turned off on me as I am driving or am stopped at a red light, although most commonly it has occurred when I was driving. The van has stopped while I am driving various speeds, notably around the 10-40 mph. It will turn on once I come to a full stop, shift to park, and turn the key again. I've had the battery and alternator checked and they are in perfect working condition. This is a very dangerous situation.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2023

I brought . My car to the dealership and they told me the airbags had an active code in the harness wiring in the driver's seat and wanted 1000 dollars to repair or rebuild the harness. They didn't have a replacement harness available and said the part did not exist so they would have to custom build one. They said it was not under warranty because I have48,000 miles on my car. I can not believe that a safety issue involving the airbag operation would not be covered by the manufaturer. I really need help.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2022

Power sliding door lock actuators failed. First started experiencing problems with the doors at 75,000mi clicking noises and then at 90,000 miles the drivers side door became stuck shut. This poses a risk of my car seat aged and disabled children to be stuck locked in the vehicle in the event of a crash or fire. The second door began clicking near 93,000 miles and is now stuck locked as well. On 4/5/25 I received a warranty extension notice from fiat Chrysler automobiles stating a warranty extension on the part and repairs however my vehicle has passed the mileage upon receipt of their letter. When I contacted fca us llc customer care they refused to further extend the warranty for repair even after a supervisor agreed that this a safety concern and that he would not be comfortable with his family riding in a vehicle that risks them being trapped. Upon further research I have found that fca has known about issues with the lock actuators dating back as far as model years 2015-2017 in which the warranty was extended to 15yrs/150,000 miles. This puts over 500,000 families at risk of being trapped in their vehicles in the event the lock actuators fail. This should be a safety recall with no mileage restriction as it puts millions of people at risk of death or serious injury if they were to be trapped in their vehicles.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2022

The lock actuator on the driver's side sliding door has seized in the lock position in our Grand Caravan. Using the fob, the switches in the vehicle, and the mechanical levers on the door, we are unable to unlock or open the door. Researching this problem, I see that it is common in 5th generation Grand Caravans and town and countries and plagues both sliding doors, creating a safety hazard: in the event of an emergency, if both actuators were to have seized since passengers entered the car, it would make exiting the car slow to impossible, and therefore hazardous. I have heard from a mechanic that Dodge/Chrysler is aware of the issue. There is, to this point, no recall or safety bulletin, and apparently nothing is being done about it, and that needs to change. To this point, our vehicle has not been officially inspected, though all of the symptoms are exactly as can be found in the various reports on the internet. There were no warnings that the part was going to fail/seize.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2022

On several occasions, the right sliding door on the van would not open either manually or electronically. I tried unlocking all doors, pushing buttons on key fob and inside the vehicle, and pulling on the interior and exterior door handles. The door would be stuck. On one occasion, the left sliding door opened on its own when the vehicle was locked and unattended.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

Rough idling. Misfire. I've changed the sparkplugs twice already, the wiring harness, injectors, purge valve, etc.
