I have a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan I was parked in my driveway and my headrest deployed and hit me in the back of the head,I called my Dodge dealer and was informed its not cover under warranty. The vehicle never been in a accident, I dont understand how these headrests are still being allowed to be installed. Looking at it you can tell the plastic that holds the pin failed.

5 Front Seat Head Restraint problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2019

We rented this caravan while on vacation in destin. On our way to return it, this past Monday, I was sitting on the driver side second row seat. I wanted to recline my seat a bit ,so I reached my left hand down to pull the lever at the bottom door side of the seat. Instead of that being where a recliing lever would normally be, it was the lever for flipping the entire seat up and snapping down the headrest. It forced me into a forward folded position with great force, then the headrest snapped down on my neck. I was diagnosed with extreme whiplash and torn muscles. Im having migraines due to the injury and pain in my head, neck, shoulders and back. My concern is that if a child would have done the same thing it may have seriously injured them or even killed them. This is a very bad design and needs to be reconfigured.
