I bought a used 2008 Dodge caravan with 34000 miles on it. There was a recall on the breaks and rotors at 38000, carmax never told me that. I ended up replacing my rotors twice since Nov 2010 and my brakes 4 differen times. I sent Dodge Chrysler a letter with my invoices for refund with no response. And now again Dodge is telling me that I need to replace the rotors and brakes. I dont have the money, and I should not have to continue to pay for this. I drive a special needs daughter and two sons in this van and feel it is unsafe but its the only car we have and no one will help us. Thank you.

Our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan sxt shows premature wear in the brake and rack-and-pinion systems. The front brake pads had to be replaced at 20,500 miles and again at 42,300 miles. The brake pads were completely worn out after just about 20,000 miles twice now. This is a safety concern, because you do not expect the brakes to wear out after 20,000 miles particularly in this family car, always driven with kids, very cautiously and never off-road. The rack-and-pinion system is worn out at 42,300 miles and that is also a safety concern because it is premature as well. The consumer does not expect a failure after such few miles. The car has been regularly and meticulously inspected at the Chrysler Dodge dealership according to Dodge specifications where we bought the car at 11,234 miles in may 2008.

My 7 year-old son was killed on 12/21/02 because my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan went into gear with out stepping on the break. The van rolled down a driveway and my son had his head out the window and he hit a tree and was killed. Granted I am partially at fault for leaving children unattended for less than 2 minutes but the van should have never been able to go out of gear with out stepping on the break. This is not a family safe vehicle. I know for a fact I am not the only person that has ran inside because they forgot something and the children were left in the vehicle. I just want Dodge to be made to put the safety device on their vehicles so no other children are not hurt or killed. The 2003 Dodge neon are also the same way. Insert the key only and the car will shift thru all the gears
thanks
jill.
