general problems of the 1996 Dodge Intrepid

Two problems related to structure have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Structure problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2002

Bushings supporting 3 of the 4 connection points of the front subframe cradle have failed, resulting in a clunking sound when moving. The clunking sound has been around for a long time, but has gotten worse recently. In looking under the car I discovered that the lower halves of the rubber bushings have fallen out at three of the four locations. This cradle supports the engine, transmission, and all steering components.

2 Structure problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2001

During normal operation of vehicle a rattling noise was coming from front end. A private mechanic diagnosed problem of rear engine cradle bolts corroding. Repairs have not been made at this time. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
