Two problems related to structure have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Bushings supporting 3 of the 4 connection points of the front subframe cradle have failed, resulting in a clunking sound when moving. The clunking sound has been around for a long time, but has gotten worse recently. In looking under the car I discovered that the lower halves of the rubber bushings have fallen out at three of the four locations. This cradle supports the engine, transmission, and all steering components.
During normal operation of vehicle a rattling noise was coming from front end. A private mechanic diagnosed problem of rear engine cradle bolts corroding. Repairs have not been made at this time. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
