Recall campaign received concerning transaxle floor shifter ignition/park interlock failure.
Consumer states that the oil gauge indicator would show low to no oil pressure while driving. Vehicle taken to a repair shop and informed that the oil pump needed to be replace. Ts.
The consumer stated that the water pump has been replaced on two occasions, from 30,000 miles to 66,000 miles. At the current mileage, the problem has reocurred. The dealer had been notified. Ts the consumer stated that the problem is when you pull the water pump, it causes stress to the housing and the gasket. The consumer stated that this is the fourth water pump, and it's like having an oil change. The consumer requests to be reimbursed for the charges, and stated that on one occasion the manufacturer rep insisted on paying half of the charges, when a nut had broken off of the water pump and had gotten into some belts and caused costly damages. On hot days (90 degrees +), the entire interior lighting package comes "on" unexpectedly. This is very annoying during the day, and a serious safety hazard after dark. I asked sunshine Dodge (dealer) to investigate and repair the problem. They claim they were unable to replicate the conditions. It is now a matter of record that this car has this specific manufacturing defect. If I get into an accident as a result, Chrysler corp. Pays.
