Two problems related to transmission solenoid have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2002

The solenoid for the overdrive failed.

2 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2002

Limp home mode, diagnosed as a bad transmission solenoid pac, replaced ($440), still had mil light and same "limp home mode" problem. Diagnosed by dealer ($90. 00), sain broken internal transmission hub, suggested I pay for factory rebuilt transmission ($2500) since rebuiling it would cost almost as much due to all the updates for the transmission (TSB's), transmission model 42le/a606.
