general problems of the 1997 Dodge Intrepid

1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2001

Consumer was making a k turn and pulled towards the curb. He put vehicle in reverse, and vehicle accelerated into another vehicle. Dealership aware of problem.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/15/1999

While pulling into a forward parking space; as the brake pedal was applied, the vehicle all of a sudden started to accelerate and take off while foot remained on the brake pedal. No injury was received; dealer was notified.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Vehicle will intermittently run very high rpms generally 1500 to 2000 without warning.
