Three problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was making a k turn and pulled towards the curb. He put vehicle in reverse, and vehicle accelerated into another vehicle. Dealership aware of problem.
While pulling into a forward parking space; as the brake pedal was applied, the vehicle all of a sudden started to accelerate and take off while foot remained on the brake pedal. No injury was received; dealer was notified.
Vehicle will intermittently run very high rpms generally 1500 to 2000 without warning.
