Car Accelerates On Its Own problems of the 1998 Dodge Intrepid

Failure Date: 10/13/1999

Vehicle experienced sudden acceleration while parked and putting vehicle into gear, resulting in collision with several parked vehicles. (n. C. Collision report).

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem

Failure Date: 02/15/1999

The vehicle experienced uncontrolled acceleration while entering a highway. The throttle was stuck wide open forcing me to control the vehicle with the brakes. After the vehicle was stopped at the side of the road, an attempt to restart resulted in the engine immediately running at full throttle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and after a week of investigation they were unable to reproduce the problem and no corrective action was taken (dealer invoice #23117).
