Two times in the last 1. 5 years, while I was stopped in traffic (with my foot on the brake) the engine suddenly accelerated! in both cases, I was stopped at a traffic light behind another car. The reving of the engine took me by surprise both times, but I managed to push the brake pedal hard enough so that I did not hit the car in front of me. I shifted into neutral and shut off the engine. It started up and in neither instance did I have another re-occurrence that day.
2. 7l v6 engine has a knocking while running. Vehicle been to the dealer on three occasions and the problem is still occurring. Consumer has taken vehicle to be fixed in which they informed consumer that it was a bad camshaft sensor. The problem reoccured after the fix. Consumer was informed to take the vehicle to another repair shop to have the defect fixed. The problem is still occuring.
Consumer states the the oil gauge light flickers intermittently while driving. Dealer replaced oil sending unit.
Engine had been knocking for approx. 2 months. My mechanic said not a problem eventually failed. Took car to dealer and they told me it had dropped a main bearing. Required a new short engine. Dt.
