Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problems of the 1999 Dodge Intrepid

Four problems related to automatic transmission floor shift have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2005

: the contact stated there was a recall, #04v021000, for the floor shift. The repair work had been performed prior to the recall. The manufacturer reimbursed the cost of the part, but will not reimburse the labor expense. The contact originally took the vehicle to the dealership, but the dealership referred the contact to an independent repair shop.

2 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2004

Consumer received recall 04v021000 concerning floor shift ignition park interlock. Mechanic informed consumer that this vehicle had to be placed on a diagnostic machine. The shifter lever cable froze.

3 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2004

The consumer received a recall (04v021000) for the floor shift ignition park interlock. The consumer was concerned while placing the key inside of the ignition while the vehicle still running the key can be removed. Please fill in additional information.

4 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2004

Consumer complained about a transmission problem. Vehicle would not shift into gear. Consumer took the vehicle into dealer, as well as contacted the manufacturer, and neither was willing to assist consumer unless consumer paid out of pocket. Vehicle was no longer under warranty.
