Three problems related to headlight concealment device have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Problems with headlights on 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The headlights were damaged due to normal operation on good roads. The damage was like the headlights had been sandblasted by a normal sand and rocks on the road, hitting the headlights while the vehicle was in motion. (plastic headlights).
The consumer stated the headlight lenses had a thick film over them, which caused impaired vision. Dealer notified. It was not moisture on them, but it appeared that the plastic had gotten cloudy inside. The problem was especially hard when driving at night and a real problem in the rain.
The headlight lens became discolored which resulted in poor visibility. Manufacturer had been contacted. Consumer had a 60,000 mile/6year warranty and was told that plastic and metal were not covered under the warranty. Consumer filed a lemon law request but was told mileage was too high to qualify for the lemon law. . The consumer was told the problem with the headlight lens was because of the heat.
