Ignition Switch problems of the 1999 Dodge Intrepid

Three problems related to ignition switch have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2004

Ignition switch was replaced twice because the wiring harness was defective. Also, radiator motor and fan did not work properly, causing the indicator to get to the red zone.

2 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2001

1999 Dodge Intrepid keys jammed in the ingition on 3 different ocassions, keys would become stuck, keys would become jammed, had to move key back and fourth and work it out until ignition would click and would turn or keys could be removed. This could be dangerous if someone needed to use car in emergency or get away from danger.

3 Ignition Switch problem

Consumer placed key in ignition and key would not turn. Vehicle was towed to the dealer.
