Two problems related to steering tie rod assembly have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tie rod became dislodged and separated from the vehicle. Had no prior warning to separation. Rear left wheel had tilted inwards. Had flatbed tow truck to tow vehicle to dealer.
The front suspension makes creaking/groaning noise when turning the wheel, the steering also binds just off center and also on return after a left turn it will stick, dealer determined that a steering rack and both inner tie rods were worn.
