Ignition problems of the 2000 Dodge Intrepid

1 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2006

Engine fire due to plugged pcv valve. Was not properly or fully inspected by van dyn hoven prior to sale. Also in six months after purchase, replaced mode door actuator, ignition tumbler, oil sensor and then the then the air conditioning compressor failed. Total cost of repairs for 1 year $1047. This car is a perfect example of why most people buy japanese cars.

2 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2005

Consumer was unable to turn the ignition key. The dealer replaced the ignition key cylinder.

3 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2005

The consumer was unable to turn the key in the ignition.

4 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2000

Able to pull the key out of the ignition while gear shift lever is in drive. Contacted dealer. Brakes shimmy, will take into dealer for repair.
