While driving approximately 25 mph the accelerator pedal cable "snapped" causing failure.
When driving at 65 mph the throttle cable broke, causing unwanted and unexpected acceleration. Vehicle raced at a high rate of speed. Vehicle was turned off in order to stop acceleration. Please note this was a rental car, rented from enterprise in sliver spring, maryland. Vehicle has since been repaired.
